2016 121,000 miles needs new transmission

    Have u ever replaced transmission oil if not your transmission will have problems

    And when cold tundra transmission will not shift you have to warm it up mine does when it's cold

    Did you ever get all the codes from the ECM to see what the truck thought was wrong?

    Maybe you just have damage related wiring giving the transmission bad signals… maybe..

    Also I have see mainshafts in transmissions get slightly bent before from this kind of stuff. Throws the whole trans out of balance and it slowly grenades it’s self in a way.

    I would definitely start with a code reader.

    A good used trans can be bought for a few grand, maybe swap in the driveway and skip paying a shop to rebuild.

    You can't kill AB60 that easily by running an unrelated part of the truck into an obstacle.

    I bet there's something else going on, related to power output of the engine or electric communication. It is commonly perceived as a transmission failure, while it is the engine that fails to maintain a proper torque that the transmission is calibrated to.
