So I am new here and I have a question about what seems like an acceleration lag when I hit the gas. I have a 2015 1794 tundra and it has always done this. I thought it may be from just not hitting the gas hard enough but I would like to fix this response time. Any ideas?

All my lag went away when I installed the bully dog gt tuner, my pedal is super sensitive now

Either get a tune or a throttle controller. Just depends what you want to spend and if you want a real solution (tune) or just improvement (throttle controller).

I have a throttle controller and it has made a world of difference. I didn't want to spend the money on a tune and was honestly skeptical that there would be noticeable different in acceleration. Throttle controllers (depending on model) allow you to quicken or slow the pedal response, this let's you find your happy pedal feel.

Lots of info on both topics on the forum. Really just depends on what your goals are with the truck and how much you want to spend.

Press the tow/haul button and see if the throttle is more to your liking. If so, then a tuner, like HP Tuner, can program your throttle to open up more like the Tow button.

Honestly, I progressed slowly and had these same issues early on. I upgraded to the TRD intake horn on my intake, did a TRD filter, and a TRD exhaust and that lag has gone away! Honestly, I think Toyota builds that lag into tunes to mitigate failures! It’s a genius business model!
