Found out yesterday that the previous owner cut/removed pins from the factory 4/7 pin connector on my 2015. Any idea what the color scheme is for the wires? I don’t have an extra person handy right now to test with a multimeter. Tried googling and didn’t find much.

Dark green is in pin 7 and yellow is in pin 1. There are also two green wires and no purple so I’m kind of lost.

This may have to wait until I can test with a mulimeter but thought I’d throw it out there.

    Mahalo,
    Jason

I took a look at my 7-pin trailer connector as well as the wiring diagram for my 2015 truck. If you look at the connector straight on from the rear bumper, it shows Pin 1, Left Stop/Turn as being the yellow wire; (continuing on clockwise) Pin 2 Running Lamps as being the brown wire; Pin 5 + (Batt) black wire; Pin 7 Right Stop/Turn as being a green wire; Pin 6 Electronic Brakes as being the light blue wire; Pin 3 - (Ground) black and white wire; and Pin 4 in the center Back Up Lamps as a green wire. It looks like you have light green and dark green wires and, based on your photo, the dark green would be the center pin 4 based on where the cut off dark green wire is currently located. I assume the light green is the Pin 7 wire. I am also assuming that the Pin 2 is your light brown/tan looking wire from your photo. Pin 5 is labeled as a black wire which I assume is your grayish looking wire in your photo. The light blue wire looks spot on for Pin 6. I assume the white wire in your photo has a black line or black marking on it as your Pin 3 ground wire but a black markingisn't visible in your photo (may just be the photo angle).

    Hi Ron,

Thank you very much, that's exactly what I was looking for! I couldn't find the weatherpak connectors so I'm just going to extend the wires a little (adhesive lined heat shrink butt splices) and use female terminals and a generous amount of dielectric grease. Will probably end up using the 12v + with an inline fuse for some bed lights since I only need the 4-flat connector for my trailer. Appreciate the quick and detailed reply and hopefully the wire colors match up since we have the same year.

    Mahalo,
    Jason

You are welcome, Jason. Hope your project goes well.

If this will help out at all, it's a 2016.

Thank you for the visual reference. Looks the same as I have mine wired and matches Ron’s 2015 wiring as well.
