I have a 2014 crew max with 180k miles on it. I drove to work yesterday no issue drove home and made one stop. Left there to head home and about 1 minute into my ride home my truck died. I put it in neutral and it fired right back up. Drove about 30 second and it did it again. Costed a little bit in neutral turned the key and it started back up. Did this a couple More times till I got to a car parts store. Checked the oil it was in the middle. Added some seafoam to the gas. Used code reader at the car part store but there was no check engine light. Seems when I let it sit for a little bit it runs a little longer opposed to when I’m driving. I left the car part store and it ran for another 1-2 minutes then died I coasted put it in neutral and started it back up. Continued to do this till I got home roughly 15 miles from the car part store. Looking for any ideas suggestions and direction. Lost because there is no dam check engine light.

Tested the battery and alternator? Loose negative?

Yes I tested it with my fluke multi meter. I held the leads on the battery when it was in park and idling. 12.9 volts and stayed there when it died.

12.9 is kinda low at idle. But you can get that reading if you have a loose connection. I would check all connections then have the battery and alternator checked.

I’m not sure about pending CEL but all he said was there were no codes and the light also wasn’t lit

I disconnected the battery over night cleaned the termalls with a brush real good. Hooked it up this morning checked the voltage on the battery it was 12.5 started the truck it went to 14.1. Went for a ride like 4 miles came home checked the voltage it was around 13.5 let it sit and run in the drive way for 20-25 minutes and the voltage was 13.4. Do you think the alternator could be going bad? At what voltage does a truck shut off because the voltage is to low?

Alternator sounds fine. Battery should be load tested at your LAPS. Check all the ground locations to make sure one of them isn't broken or corroded.

FSM is a great resource. There’s also an EWD floating around here somewhere. Maybe in a sticky.

Do you have an aftermarket intake? If so, make sure all of the connections are tight And none of the Rubber couplings came loose.

    Working on it....,.
Sounds like you may have something floating around in the tank; when it gets near the pump it gets sucked on to the intake and cuts out the gas.
