The wires on your kit are long enough. That’s where I installed the switches on my 2019 (and I wish I had on the 2021).

Like this? I will probably move mine to this location on my 2021 because it is really nice to have them right under my fingers. I use the front cam every time I pull into the garage to help me line up just right because I only have 2” of clearance on my passenger side.

Thanks for the heads up. I remembered you said that they were lengthened, but I didn't read through to see where you had them mounted. That should work out perfect then. Hoping to have the time next weekend for the install along with some other goodies that have been waiting.

AZTundra, it’s a little tight in the console but it works.

Exactly what I was looking to do. I think that is the perfect place to mount them. Very convenient and also hidden.

I misread your question. I thought you were asking about the credit card spot. I do not believe there is enough room behind the panel where your red boxes are.

Yes, there is enough room to fit them in that location. I took it apart to get started on the install, but ran out of time. Will hopefully continue on it tomorrow or else next weekend.

Can anyone confirm I won't be using the red or black cable for anything? Only the yellow rca and the trigger wire need to be connected behind the dash. This is a Nakita camera.

The Reds are common. So you only need to connect the red to the FRAC Harness red power lead. However you need to connect the camera harness Black wire to a good ground.

So just ground the black wire and cut/cap off the red wire? Then connect the trigger wire and yellow rca to the frac?

Kinda... I could not find a manufacturer that wasn't flaky. So I'm working on a different design solution. This will be a momentary push button switch that rotates through each display mode. i.e. Off, Front, Rear, Off Front, Rear, etc... with each push...

Question for knowledge… so i already can do anytime rear camera with my HU setup and my question is do I need a FRAC harness if i already have a second connection for a camera hookup and the rear anytime camera?

That depends on your Head Unit. If you already have anytime Backup and an option for a second camera, that might have an anytime function as well. You can test this by plugging your existing camera into the second port to see if it works.

If this doesn't work and if you want an anytime front camera as well, then the FRAC Harness will provide that with your aftermarket HU as long as it is wired with plug and play adapters to your Tundra factory harnesses.

Finished installed the FRAC and the camera
    IMG_20210927_155445.jpg

Does anyone know if our Stock HU output 720p display? I installed the camera, it say to cut the "Purple wire" to display it in 720p
So, I cut the "White and Green" wire cause to use the Front Camera only and to remove the guidelines.

    Thanks in advance.

Has anyone put a phone mirroring kit in line with the FRAC?

Thanks @TundraTex... I have the Pioneer DMH-8600NEX with the brake bypass and the HU hack paired with the Maestro RR. I will hook the other camera I have and see if it does work already and post an update upon completion!

If you do it’ll work just fine. The FRAC Harness passes all signals from the factory harnesses through to the head unit. The mirroring pins are completely separate from the FRAC pins so there will be no conflicts.

Finished the FRAC Harness install today. Last step was just getting the right size hole drilled for the switches. My step bit only went to 3/4" and that wasn't quite big enough. Used a larger step bit from my father in law and it took one step up. 13/16" is the right size if anyone else needs to know. The switches fit nicely right under the center console armrest.

I feel it's the perfect spot for them. They are tucked away, but also right at your fingertips when you want to use them. You'll need to lengethen the wires a bit to reach that spot, but it's well worth it.

*UPDATE from my last post* So I was able to hook up a second camera to my Pioneer HU and I'm able to view the front camera anytime along with the rearview camera without having to use a FRAC harness. @TundraTex, Thanks for the insight on that one and now just need to find a good mounting place for the front camera.

Nice Job on the install! The switches are designed for a 20mm hole which is closer to 25/32. But obviously 13/16 is close enough!

    2020 Tundra SR5 4x4 TRD Off-road
I have got the FRAC harness along with the Natika camera and getting ready to install, as I would especially like the ability to see the front camera when parking. I saw something about the 2022 where the front camera comes on at low speeds automatically and I was thinking of hooking up something like that. I could use an extra switch to enable/disable this functionality, and it would work similar to the auto high beams. Front camera switch on + auto on, it stays off and only comes on under 5 mph (or some threshold). Front camera switch on + auto on disabled, the behavior is just like the current operation. I could do this with a small arduino board and a GPS, but I wondered (but haven't yet searched) on if there is a way to tap into the OBDII line (or other line?) and query the car for the speed (but without running a dongle). The arduino + gps wouldn't be too expensive, would have to run an antenna somewhere to get decent reception as I don't think it would pick much up buried under the dash. Before I get going on this, has anyone else already done it?

    Thank you,

    Steve
