    Hello,

I bought a 2019 Tacoma about 9 months ago, thinking I wouldn't need the back seat space, bed space, and would have much better MPGs...

I am now looking at doing what I should have done from the start... buy a Tundra.

I have located both a 2014 and 2015 with 1794 trim. The miles are virtually the same. The 2015 is only a thousand more in price but is a couple hours further away.

Is there any reason I should choose one over the other?

I notice the 2015s have slightly higher reviews on consumer reports and another website indicated the 2015s were more reliable, but really didn't specify exactly how much more reliable.

Thanks for your comments and opinions.

I'd say the only reason the 15 may be more reliable is the 14 was the first year if the redesign so usually a few issues pop up that they get fixed on the next year models. I can't speak to either other than that. Are they the same color, any extras on one or the other like spray liner or exhaust?

    Welcome from NY.

Which color do you like better?
    Good luck with your decision.

Yes. Both trucks are nearly identical. Thanks.

I'd work deals on both trucks through email and see where you get. Just curious, what's the pricing on them?

$30,600 for the 14 and $31,600 for the 15. 62k miles. Factory packages on both appears to be the same. I need to check if one has running boards and the other does not...

I should mention the 14 is Toyota Certified by the dealer and the 2015 is not. I think that might be the decision maker.

For $1K, I'll go for the 2015. You can probably negotiate it down to below $30s as its not certified. You're buying a Toyota, doesnt really matter if its certified or not.

I would go with the 15, I have never liked buying the first year of a model change. Just my thoughts. Good luck with whichever one you choose :)

Good luck with the decision. I would negotiate both deals and play them off one another. In the end if 14 is substantially cheaper if go that route. If it's close at the end go with the 15.

Whichever one does not have the cam tower leak. No joke. Please ask before buying.

For what it’s worth, I love my 2016 and would lean toward the 2015. However, if I was thinking of spending 30k, I would take a day and take the tine to see and drive both. Then you will have a real comparison. Looked them over stem to stern and drive them both, if there is a significant difference, it will come to you. A lot about a vehicle is who owned it and how was it driven and treated. Every little detail tells a story...

I’m right there with ya. We originally bought a 2015 Tacoma and loved it but just wasn’t the space we needed especially after the arrival of our second. We picked up a 2015 1794 with super low kms (21k) and have not looked back. For the marginal difference I would go the 15. Re sale as well if by chance you ever do is going to be slightly in your favor with the 15.
