    I believe it’s Dex 3. DOT 3 & 4 are brake fluid. Definitely don’t mix the two.

Did PS fluid change over with the 2.5 gen?

    It's ATF.

Dealership told me it’s nothing special.

Owners manual will solve this problem. Anyone have a screen shot of the oils/capacities for the 2nd gen Tundra?

    Right from the owners manual.

That kinda upsets me. Parts counter told me to just get plain old power steering fluid.

Guess it’s always a good practice to check and verify the specific fluid for your vehicle.

FYI... On my 4runner I was able to disconnect the return line to the reservoir and crank the wheel to flush out the old fluid (while continuing to keep the reservoir stocked with fresh fluid and front end jacked up). I haven't tried on my Tundra yet, but I assume it will work as well.
