Really aggravated with my wife's truck right now. She has a 2013 ecoboost supercrew that she has had since we got married. We have kept it because it is paid off. The thing only has 102 k and I am now having to replace the second water pump on it in two years. First one gave out at 76k and August of last year, now this one....I already didn't like the truck to begin with. We are at a poi t with truck trade in value is about to tank due to mileage, so I'm faced with do I dump money and keep long term or trade in and have a payment. It needs a water pump but also is having ac blower issues needs new shocks and a transmission flush. Also needs new brake pads and tires because my wife drives like sht lol

I don't see why you would put more money into it especially since you hate it. If your wife loves it that's one thing but I say let it go and get something that wont put you in the shop and pissed off.

My 2012 eco-broke broke two piston skirts at 29,000km and the long block was replaced by ford on warranty. Sold it the day after. Never again.

I sold my F-150 for this Tundra because I was coming up on the 60k (mile) warranty and didn’t trust it. I decided I’d rather have a car payment and warranty than any risk for expensive repairs.

Seems like you’re coming up on normal repairs for a truck of that mileage. It’s going to require some cash to keep it running, even w/o the issues you mentioned. That alone might be reason enough to sell it. Figure out the cost for everything you need to do and go from there. For example, if the total cost is going to be $2,000, ask yourself what you’d do with the truck if everything was perfect and you had $2k to trade for a new rig.

Sell it buy a good used car she wants, whatever Toyota model she likes buy used and it will last. My wife’s 08 Altima last 90 something thousand miles when we traded it in for a brand new Lexus rx350 and we got lucky just regular maintenance on it.Maybe get your wife a used Lexus, they’re reliable, hold their value and luxurious.

Trade it in. Give her your 2017 Tundra and either upgrade to a newer model for yourself or buy a slightly older one in order to save money and have a lower payment compared to a newer one.
