Hello everyone, looking for a little guidance on the error code I just received from my inspection.
The inspector was baffled as I'm in Texas and he stated that those really only applied to Cali.
Anyway, the error code is P0418: Secondary Air Injection System Relay ""A"" Circuit Malfunction...

I have no clue where to start on this thing...

    Any ideas??

    Thanks!!

I have the same code on my 09 with the 4.7. A friend of mine who is out on disability from Toyota said it was more than likely the Air Pump located in the passenger fender well. I changed that along with the Air Switching Valve. Cleared the code, drove about 50 miles and all was okay. Next day the code came back on. I'm going to do the other valve on the driver side and see what happens. I'm not looking forward to changing the other air pump as it's under the intake. I'll post back in a week or so after the part gets here.
I hope someone else sees this and can weigh in.

So i just replaced the other Air Switching Valve on the drivers side, cleared the P0418 but as soon as i started her up the code came back.
I guess next is the pump under the intake which I'm not thrilled about.

The secondary air pumps from Toyota are stupid money I believe It’s dorman who makes the replacement but Toyota does have a recall for these air pumps I believe they extended the warranty to 150000 or 10 yrs

Just replaced the air pump under the intake today. Found a nice mouse nest and the pump was seized. Reset the code and so far so good.

It is unfortunate the Secondary Air Injection System is failure prone and a prevalent issue on Tundras. I hope you were able to get life our of the Dorman Aftermarket Part but in our experience sometimes they can cause more issues then resolve. We have even seen owners go through 2 -3 set of Factory/OEM parts. That said, anyone who see SAIS fault codes after replacing the components not Factory/OEM part the issue is most likely with the aftermarket part. They are cheap for a reason. I have included some additional resources below.
