A coworker had a family member with a Sequoia that broke a valve spring in the passenger head. They got Toyota involved and they helped with some of the repairs.

I have looked on the web and found a recall for valve springs on the Lexus and Tacoma but not the Tundra, I have called Toyota and they will not help me because the extended warranty expired at the end of last year, hard for me because the truck is still financed and I am getting no help for Toyota!

My 08 Tundra had the #7 cylinder valve spring break. There is definitely a problem with the springs but Toyota will not admit it or help. Like other people have said ,Lexus had a recall on the springs. I called a place that imports used engines from Japan and he said in the past 12 months he sold 80 , 5.7 engines and 300 , 4.7 engines. I've had 6 different toyotas and all went over 230,000 miles with not one problem with the engines. Broken springs is not normal. Everyone should contact NHTSA and file a complaint.
