Hi Guys, got tired of looking so I’m asking…

I just got a 2010 double cab. The guy before me replaced the stereo with an Alpine POS so I have a storage place underneath it. It has cables for a micro USB and a head phone jack hanging out in that storage place. Every time I connect to the Bluetooth which isn’t automatic, it wants me to punch in a code 0000. None of the steering controls work and there’s no mic hooked up so I can take a call but not talk back. I don’t know why it was installed, maybe the new stereo could do something the stock radio couldn’t.

I wanna pull this POS as soon as I can find a replacement and I’m wondering if I should look for and put a stock one back in or go with a slightly more modern radio. I don’t want to spend a fortune on a new stereo set-up if I can help it…

    1. I want to have a radio that fills the radio hole like factory.
    2. I want phone controls to work
    3. I want the Bluetooth to auto connect
    4. I found monster wires under the passenger seat so I may be pre wired for an amp so I may hook up a small amp and my old mini subwoofer.

Any help and maybe even a pic or 2 of a replacement would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

    Is budget a factor?

    I prefer Kenwood myself.

You'll want a double din head unit to fill up the whole space. You will probably also need the Meastro system which will allow all of the steering wheel controls and stuff like that to work. Personally I would get in touch with James at Tech12volts. He gave me a good deal when I bought all of my speakers and amp etc.

Lot of different options, do you want Sirius/xm, navigation, etc. I haven't installed a head unit, but I'm going to assume you will probably need some sort of harness for it. If you talk to James he will set you up with everything you need.

i got my meastro rr and the to1 toyota harness from james @james@tech12volts dont remember the price but you will probably need a new bezzle also if the bottom pocket cant be removed.
i went with the alpine ilx-650 and the small micro amp behind it.

I have a budget Boss Audio double din media player only from Crutchfield. You get the face plate and wire harness included. I wanted android auto and a rearview camera. Has been working great for me. Given my 08 doesn't have steering wheel controls so I saved against buying that adapter harness.

I never could stand single din units with the filler cubby.
