I own 7 Toyota Tundra's and I have one that has had issues with what has always been thought to be "Warped Rotors" and it causes a light pulsing when braking, not the pedal however just the truck kind of surges up to a stop sign. This is the first indications of a problem that gets worse as time goes on. The dealership replaced the first two sets of front rotors and pads and then it was out of warranty. The problem persisted after 10-15000 thousand miles each time. Eventually getting to the point where it was serious enough to replace the rotors and pads yet again. This temporarily would solve the issue. 171,000 miles and five sets later and still I can not figure out what is the "Cause" of this problem. The shimmy is all in the steering wheel and not the brake pedal. It starts out with a light shimmy and then a very noticeable shake in the steering wheel and eventually a hard "Shimmy". A down hill hard brake will cause it to really shake violently. The braking system as far as the master cylinder and brake booster are original to the truck and neither have ever been replace. The rear rotors have been replace within the past year. Since this is my very first post, I'm praying that someone out there in Tundra land may have an idea to the "Cause" of this.

No solution but mine is the same way. I had really bad shaking on stock brakes and replaced brakes and rotors with aftermarket around 20k. It was good for awhile but in the last 5k miles or so I’ve been getting the pulsing feel when slowing down. It only does it when braking and when I slow down to below around 30 mph.

You might check to see if your front rotors are warped or have glaze built up on them.

    Welcome from Northern Colorado.
