Understood. Great info. But I’m trying to figure out how much lift it’s going to give to figure out if my truck will fit in the garage with this damn finned antenna on the roof. Because if it doesn’t fit, that changes how I’m going to plan the bed layout and will have to put on another tonneau.

wth is it with you and the damned finned antenna???

    1. I went glass and kept my antenna. Its curved under the fender and works just fine.

    2. who the hell listens to the radio??? its 2019 wtf

So I only have a few inches to spare above my roof when I pull in, but my driveway has a slight slope so as the roof passes under the eve, its a little lower because the rear axle is still on the sloped driveway. So only one way to find out if your truck will fit...

Just curious, when you set your truck up to carry all that weight, is the ride too stiff if you want to go out unloaded?

TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
I don't think it's ever unloaded. Lots of the stuff would be too much of a PITA to remove and the rest is deemed essential. At least that's my take on Alex's setup. The RTT is on an actuator/hinge system so it's a (semi) permanent fixture.
I carry a lot less stuff but with all the twisting from articulation and mobbing whoops I'm breaking leafs (Icon leafs) and seeing them flatten quickly.

With full weight and fluids, I have 8" uptravel (5" to the bump).

If I pull the spare tires, fluids (I usually carry 20 ga gas/water, but i can carry up to 35 ga), tools/gear, I can drop roughly 500-600 lbs. I usually do this when I clean out the bed and cab or if I have to work on something. When I empty it like that, I gain almost 2" of lift. It rides a little stiffer, but its not horrible. More like a sports car ride.

Wow... This is an awesome option. I'm probably not in for this first run since I have some other items that are further up the list (cough cough winch cough), but certainly interested in this at some point in the future. Guess I'd have to wait on the development of a MT option anyway though.

Thanks for all the work you guys have put into this!!

    New Upgrade list:
    1. Winch
    2. Rear Locker
    3. 3" Leaf Pack
    4. High clearance rear bumper

Hahaha... Indeed. Maybe I'll move it up to #2.

Winch is next though bc I just spent a ton on a new front bumper to accept a winch. Having a winch will allow me to do some harder stuff and get me to more places. The leaf pack will get me there faster.
I already have an I748 pack though.

That’s really not a bad deal at all! Especially for you guys that have to keep getting your springs re-arced often. Sounds very beneficial and will eventually save money in the long run. Great job Bruce and Alex for coming up with an alternative for the Tundra. I realize what this could do for the community in the long run opening up options. Progress! I may never be a LT truck and possibly never MT. But I do love dreaming about it. And I still like learning about it. If I come into some cash someday, I will hand over a large chunk to you and have you build my truck for me! I am seriously impressed with what you guys have done to your trucks as well as what you are doing for the rest of the guys. Glad to have your brains around here.

Thanks, and yeah this took a lot of $ and research to get it right and easy for everyone to do. We didn't want to bring this to market without being fully tested, vetted and worked out till we had everything sorted. You make a great point, regarding $ savings around leaf re0arch and replacement every 6-12 months. Thats one of the many reasons we did this.

Now we have that done. And now it's ready to go. I'll have pics of the full install in the next few weeks that ill post in here. I am waiting on my leafs to get built, so now the wait is on Deaver.

And as always Im always available for full or partial truck builds. And hopefully in the next 3-6 months ill have my full shop up and running. Thats the goal.

Since I like helping people with whatever I can in terms of pointing them in the right direction. I have read quite a few threads in the past with people complaining about their leaf springs sagging overtime. I will put this in my arsenal and make sure I send them your way. I look forward to seeing this really take off. People will need to understand the initial cost of upgrading to 3 inch lift pack is really the most bullet proof way to go. If they could do this the first time instead of trial and error, spending money on a re-arc. You guys have already paid the price and hopefully some will just do this from the start. Your desire to make a change can benefit a lot of people.

Is it possible that Deaver may even think of linking your product to their website so that some can just get it all in one package?

Ultimately that is the goal.. we wanted a turn-key solution for tundras so people could avoid all the issues from the get-go, much appreciated in the support. it definitely helps. And yes this absolutely is the way to bulletproof your rear on a tundra.

im working on a 3" u bolt flip kit and plate for SOA, so you would order 3" Spring over axle (SOA) leafs from Jeff, and a 3" conversion kit from me and just deonte it's for SOA and I would include the same parts just with the ubolt flip kit instead.

Should have that sorted in a week or two

in my opinion, if you are planning on it, I would go SUA instead of adding the middle step. and you will need limit straps no matter what for SUA, let me know what questions you have.

Ok, so if I limit to the MT of my current shocks down travel I'll be all set for towing and hitting some off road trails.

oh i see what you are getting at.. you want to run SUA leafs with SOA shocks, that wont work... with SUA, the leafs and u bolts will be where the current shocks are mounted. Sorry to say that wont work for ya, you would have to either do a shock relocation setup or bed cage.

Ok that's what I was trying to figure out. As far as the kitsch.
What would be the difference between the over and under kit, besides the location of where the leafs mount?

Sorry lots of questions. But I figure it will help to ask so anyone with the same question can have the answers.

All good totally understand. with under-mount spring kit, you have to move the shock location mounting on the axle. Theres quite a few differences. obviously travel #'s and the aforementioned shock and spring mounting location. bottom line is if you are thinking of going SUA / LT rear, just go all in from the start, buy once cry once. Dont try to half-ass it
