I'm honestly not sure, the video was filmed by Morimoto, they might know if you send over an email. :)

The XBs are the best aftermarket housings I've seen on the market, and I've seen them all. Practicality OEM condition! :)

I'm not entirely sure at the moment, I'll get a better ETA when I hit the office tomorrow morning. What are you running now?

Disclaimer: Not trying to bash these headlights, just trying to get information about them and this company.

Anyone know Morimoto's track record? Are they like most of these headlight manufacturers with awesome advertising, promises of excellent performance, and guarantee as good or better them OEM? But after they have your money and a small amount of time has gone by, the headlights do not last?

Great question! Customer service and product duration is certainly a concern on products like these because at the end of the day, these headlights are expensive. I don't know if my word has any weight since we work with Morimoto, but their headlights don't hold a 5-Year warranty for no reason! :) They are very easy to work with and communication is very streamline. As for their products, we've had awesome feedback with their various products. The return rates are very very minimal, and the quality truly is there, they look and feel very similar to OEM. A nice bonus too, I'm not sure of too many other products that not only are DOT Approved and will pass state inspection, but are also Factory Warranty compliant! :) We'll always carry Morimoto products, we've done our homework on what's good and what's not, and Morimoto is always one of the top competitors!

HR, you mention these headlights are expensive. Rough estimate, what kind of pricing are we talking about?

Going off other housings, these guys will more than likely be in that $1,000 - $1,500 range. This is typically the price point we see with the XB Headlights. Take it with a grain of salt, as I'm not sure what they will be off launch.

Well, that's half the price of the Sequoia lights. If you bought brand new OEM housings and the parts to retrofit, that would run you about 900 dollars and that's diy. So if these are at 1000 dollars and will not fog up or stop working for at least 5 years, I think you have them at the right price. 1500... No, people look for other options at that point.

It's definitely higher up on the price point, but with it being a full front end lighting conversion being Plug and Play, I can see where the price point is justified. You truly are getting what you pay for! :)

Very interested but $1000? I could go with almost 3 sets of AlphaRex at that price........we’ll see

Very true, but that'd be for the Halogen Projector model with the 2-Year warranty. Plus with those, you would need to forfeit the Auto-Leveling Feature on the headlights. Decisions decisions my man! Haha :)

True, however for me I don't have the leveling headlights so no big deal for me. Will these get hot enough to prevent ice buildup when on? That is a factor for me as well.

This is a concern for sure, I used to live in Northern Minnesota for most my life so I know all about the pain of Snowed-over housings. LEDs don't make enough heat to really melt off any snow or ice build-up on a housing. The best bet would be to Ceramic coat your headlight to help out with this issue.

When I bought my used 2010 Tundra with 160k miles, the headlights were in horrible shape. They did almost nothing to help me see at night. I polished them up the best I could and the light output improved a little. This allowed me to spend time researching the right long term solution. I personally became convinced that a retrofit was the only thing that was going to get me what I wanted. I bought brand new OEM headlights and did the retrofit with those. I also replaced all other bulbs inside the housing with led bulbs from Headlight revolution. I was very happy with my buying experience that included pre-sales help and the service I received when one of led bulbs went out. I had a great experience with HR and will shop there again.

In regards to Morimoto, again after a lot of research, I used several of their pieces for retrofit. Everything seemed to be of high quality and worked as expected. I did come to believe that I should avoid their ballasts and instead opted for used BMW ballasts.

As part of my light upgrades, I also purchased the morimoto fog lights. They were more expensive than other options. I bought them because of the look, fit, positive reviews, and perceived quality. I am extremely happy with them. Plug and play, high quality, great light output, etc.

My total light upgrade project was probably close to $1400. A big chunk of that was the brand new OEM headlights. Everything I read about using any one else's housings steered to me OEM.

It is still funny to me every time i get in my truck at night and turn on the headlights. They are now as good as or better than any high end luxury car I have been in. The right lights are a great way to improve your experience driving not to mention the huge increase in safety. IMO our 2nd gen tundras come with about the worst light output you could probably get on a vehicle in the market during the years they were made.

I did consider the sequoia lights at the time of my project. While I am confident I made the right choice, had these been around I would of also considered them.

Will there be an option do disable the switchback feature? I personally dislike the look of that strongly enough I’d skip this purchase.
