Great looking headlights, tempting price with the 20% off but it's just bad timing for me right now.

Yes, my sequoia doesnt have auto leveling and the screw is still accessible and works fine.
Only up down adjustment, not left right.
Now to buy switch and harness to add leveling...

You're just missing the screw supports. Spyder and some others have it, probably from copying a tundra or sequoia headlamp in 2008 vs the original 2007 before the washer jets.

Just installed mine today, quality is excellent on these! I do have one question, do I have them aimed properly on the low beam side and can you adjust the high beams independently from the lows? I feel like my drivers side high beam is WAY higher than it should be.

Hilux lights aren't our orange, I may get harness and then buy tundra switch. I have a Platinum so need to figure out where to put it! No blanks!

So just to clarify, these will work with my 2011 SR5 that has leveling adjustment, and I will be able to retain the leveling feature. Is that correct?

I just read all 16 pages in this thread. I don't know how I missed those headlights. I was looking to do the Sequoia conversion, but these look like a viable option, especially if they are OE quality (please provide feedback if you own these); most aftermarket headlights look so cheap, that it's beyond me. I think I like the look of the Morimotos with the Sequoia TRD Pro grill more than the OEM set up. I need some time to digest this, but if I do decide to get those, then I will be super annoyed that I just missed the sale :(.

They're as close to OE I have seen. Significantly better than the AlphaRex which I returned.

jchawk, let's say this is not your car and you've never see a Tundra in your life......if you saw these on someone's car, would you consider them OEM quality or would you suspect a "cheap knock-off"? :notsure:

    ...sorry, I got issues

I was in the same situation as you. There wasn't a whole ton of info on Tundra Morimoto XB's aside from that clusterfuck group buy for the Gen3's (no fault of the headlights - just the organizer) since they are so new for both the Gen2 and Gen3. I think some people had to increase the DRL fuse value, but nobody has had these for a long time. Don't get me wrong. They look great, and they're cheaper than the Sequoias. I was extremely tempted to jump on the 20% off sale. What ended up making me step back for a sec was looking at other truck forums.

Morimoto XB's have been out for other truck manufacturers for longer than the Tundra. I forget exact details, but I think a couple people in the early batches had projectors come loose. Customer service to get a fix was meh. And general early adopter teething problems. There were talks that later versions contained fixes, but let's be real. If they do make changes, we wouldn't know for certain, and we wouldn't know if updated ones were in warehouses until new stock has cycled through.

Again, I'm not bashing them as there has been no reason to do so for these Tundra lights. Even if there are issues, it's a new product and it is completely understandable if there is some teething. But I'm not sure I want to be in so early on in its release. But my shit aftermarket headlights are trash and I need headlights sooner than later. The Sequoias have been out for a while now and are OEM. So for my situation, I'm leaning toward Sequoias.

I was in the same boat and leaning towards the 18+ Sequoia too. I like OE, I hate aftermarket but the 2007/2008 2nd gen lights suck so bad.
I bought Spyders and they lasted exactly 2 years. That's with UV clearcoat and resealing them. They suck, they did look 'ok' when installed with the extra work I did - but they weren't better performing in the long run. The lightbar was pathetic too.

Now for the Sequoia OEM, they act like OEM. They dim the LED DRLs correctly, the turnsignal is smooth and correct. The Transition from DRL, Turn and turning the lights on is smooth and factory.

The morimoto, they're not. That's the only drawback I have for them. When you turn the car on, they get a DRL (both turns positive), so they come on as Yellow - when that's held for over a second, they switch to the DRL white.
It's a bit frustrating but i'll forget all about it soon enough. I can take video if you want, but it a minor nuance.
Also, when deactivating a turn, the yellow stays solid for another flash instead of instantly turning off to the white DRL. Not a dealbreaker but a nuance.

Now for converting to Sequoia OEM - you have nearly the SAME issues. You have to hack a DRL harness, you don't have white LED dimming when the headlights are on. You don't have it dim when you activate a turn signal. So the Sequoia swap is NOT much better. In fact, you have some more function with the morimoto's just because the logic board for the DRL and turn compensates for some of that.

Two reasons I went morimoto 1) price, about 800 cheaper in long run than Sequoia OE (though that price is getting better...) 2) didn't have to deal with painting the lower fascia (or cutting it, because I have headlight washers).

Valid points. I am not in a rush, and this is more of a want than a need for me, so maybe I should hold off for now. On the other hand, they do come with a 5-year warranty, but then if you have to fight for 6 months to have it honored, then it sort of defects the purpose.

I see how a lot of people are focusing on the price, which is forcing manufacturers to build to a price point, which is horrible. Personally, I don't mind paying more for a good product, but I expect it to work and be as good as advertised. If I need to pay $1000.00 for the headlights, I will, but they have to be worth $1000.00. Hopefully this is the case with Morimoto XBs.

Either way, I hope it's a solid product and another viable option for the 2nd gen owners. It'd be very disappointing if it is the same crap in a different wrapper.

Thank you. Appreciate the honest feedback.

How do they feel and look as far as physical appearance/hardware? Do they have a solid feel and look to them?

time will tell. It's too early. I think for 20% off they are worth it vs the usual spyder and others knockoffs. I couldn't justify the cost of sequoias conversion (oem lights + harness + body panels + paint)
Morimoto is pretty well known in aftermarket lightning. I have been running their XB fog lights for 3 years with no issues. The headlights are a great match for their XB fog lights.
I'm sure the sale will come back.

@Headlight Revolution There seems to be quite a few people who want the headlights, but personally I'm having a hard time spending any more than the offer that just expired (20% off, free shipping). For a lot of us this is a "want", not a "need". With that being said can you offer the same discount as you have before? There has to be a way to make it happen again. Maybe we can get a mini group buy set up, so people get the discount and HR gets the revenue from the volume sale. And I'm sure if you did the 20% off everything in the store the way it was before, people would jump on it and buy even more products. Just throwing it out there.
