I went to Johnson Valley, CA, over the weekend of February 20th. Over the weekend, it got windy, with steady winds of 20–30 MPM and gusts of 50–60 MPH. My truck got hit with small rocks and sand. The windshield and driver side glass got pitted; the paint was pitted; my headlights and my method wheels got damaged. I'm thankful that the insurance company is going to take care of my truck. I'll be painting my truck the same Salsa Pearl Red, but I'll be color matching the chrome pieces. I'll send my wheels out to be powder coated in gloss black instead of satin. Once everything is painted, I'm getting the front wrapped in clear and then ceramic coating the entire truck.
Hopefully this month, I'll have a fresh new coat of paint.

I found these switches online, they should fit in the center blanks. I ordered the usb charger from them and it fit perfect.

I will be doing this lightbar very soon. I Just ordered the parts.

@2006Tundra sorry to see what happened to your truck. That sucks. I've never seen this happen to anyone. Crazy. Good luck with the insurance fixes!

Thanks. The pictures don't capture everything. I'm kind of glad it happen because the truck needed a paint job.

    I’m running method 305s 0-offset on ko2 285 17 inch. Close to your build.

Looking on finally buying a full-size spare. Better late than never. I have the tire already just need the wheel/rim.

Are you running a full size method spare? Does a 285 fit in the spare tire mount under the truck?

I haven't gotten a full size get but I was just going to use my stock wheel. I heard you can squeeze a 35 up in there. I need to get one of my wheels that I have on my truck and see if it'll fit.

I was going to use a stock rim also but you also have to remember to carry stock lugs for it.

    thank you for the reply

I kept my stock lug nuts because I still have my spare. I'll be powder coating my wheels soon. Once they're off, I'll test fit my 285's and see if they fit. I'll keep you updated.

Yeah I almost snatched a black one this week, but the price was so/so and I'm not sure my sagging leafs will appreciate it. Of it's still available this weekend I might need to get it still. It's past the self control grace period by a few days anyway.

Edit: scratch that. I just checked and they raised the price $100. I'm having a hard time paying more than $500 for a shell that doesn't match. Might just need to make one.

I bit the bullet and bought it new, It cost me $1850. A hard pill to swallow but I'm going to keep the truck for a very long time. I also scored on a this carpet/storage thing. The picture isn't mine but it's the exact thing. Works great when you're camping.

SP, nice, not to far. I'm not sure who makes it but I'll look.

I bought a couple of used shells before for my Tacoma and Tundra. They would either be a different color, it needed to be painted or missing glass, in ok to bad shape. Issues with leaking or something went wrong.
I got mine from SnugTop and I have a lifetime warranty with the paint, if the fiberglass starts to crack and manufacture issues. I felt it was worth it to buy new just for the warranty.

I think I'd have a very hard time spending that much on something that didn't make my truck faster or smoother on the bumps. I'm pretty cheap though. Probably getting a shell tomorrow anyway. I have 1pt of paint, but I'm thinking that's not enough for a shell.

I hear ya. It was hard to spend that money too, trust. I wanted to color match my truck and I couldn't find any used ones.

Another reason, I have 2 large dogs and one of them thought it would be a good idea to jump out of a moving truck. I was traveling about 20mph and coming to a stop when he jump. Luckily, nothing happen to him,. Ever since then, I decided to buy a shell.

If you find a smokin' deal, jump on it. Is the shell the same color as your truck?

I understand all of that. My dogs are a big reason for getting a shell. With two kids and two medium dogs we are running out of room. One of the dogs would fit in the cab but my husky wouldn't physically fit or stay still long enough to matter if he did.

The shell I found is black so it matches everything haha. I have about a quart of color, clear, And primer from when I was going to paint my fiberglass fenders so I might just use that. Don't plan on using the fiberglass right now anyway.

Off to paint she goes! Sticking with the OEM paint and going to color match everything but going black with the side mirrors.

I got it done at Kalil Fab in Fullerton, CA. You can take a hammer to the pinch welds and flatten them.

I hammered the pinch welds when I got 33s and cut off some of the fender liner and metal.

I since added spacers and it rubs hard. The cutting now is far what I am comfortable doing in my driveway. I’m going to hit them up see if they can do a cab mount chop

Two questions, What size spacer are you running?
what size lift do you have?

I’m running 1 1/2” spacer and with a 3” lift. The only time I rub is when I reverse out of my drive way to fast or if I’m doing some light off roading when I turn. Other than that, I don’t rub and I can do a full U turn.

2.5 inch lift with camburg uca, 0 offset methods on 285 ko2 17s. Running 1.25 spacer spidertraxs.

need to cut that pinch weld back and reinforce it. I cut everything off to that bolt.

I took the last screw off from my wheel well because I would rub on that. Try taking it off and see how bad it is.
