So I was changing Calipers, Rotors, and pads on my truck. When I was transferring the old brake line from the old caliper to the new one, the brake line cracked and broke off. I haven't done the other side yet because i'm almost sure its going to happen again, they are super rusty. Does anyone know where you can get a brake line? Do you have to order it? Are they universal and can I get some at a local auto parts store? I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

    They are not universal.

Sometimes a local 4x4, hotrod or performance shop will be able to build a matching line with adapter fittings and stainless braided brake line if needed that day.

Otherwise you'll probably have to order.

Depending on how quick you need the truck back, wheelers has a set of nice stainless lines

Do you have a part number by chance? Can't find the part anywhere on toyotas website. Thanks in advance.

Looks like you’ve posted Brake Hose Parts#. If that is the case for the OP, then buy some Universal Stainless Coated Front Brake Hoses from Wheelers and also do the Rear Hose over the rear axle, as well. Sounds like OP has a rust problem and the above parts/tubes/hard lines I posted should get him going in the right direction.

    :notsure:
I'm not sure what your point is but ass u me "brake line" means "brake hose" and if the OP chooses to go back OEM, simply supplied the toyota part #

Different strokes for different folks as far as getting "him going in right direction" !

Hope your fweelings aren’t hurtz. I’m no expert, but have actually done my front brakes and can say the Hose (you posted) probably won’t break but the hard line will (if rusted like our other member suggested above in post #3). Was making a clarification for clarity sake.

Did you miss your nap today?

I haven’t figured it out completely but it’s like you’re hip on competing with your my way or the highway attitude toward some around here. I simply posted a link to a part not even knowing you had already posted. Perhaps you missed your weekly meds or meditation. I can assure you my feelings are not hurt, just enjoy tundras.com for what it is, which is sharing knowledge. I think that’s enough thread derailing on my part, back to peanut gallery for me.

Drivers side, hard line to caliper is 47318-0C010.
Passenger side, hard line to caliper is 47315-0C010

i should add, that even though i gave the parts counter my VIN,
he asked me if i had the shorter or longer brake pads. i have the
shorter and apparently there is a difference in hard line part numbers.

    hope this helps.

I did skip last weeks meds and that might be my problem? Your other gibberish I have no idea what you are talking about.

Now if you really want to know why I made the Clarification? It was for Clarification Sake like I already said. There are a couple of hoses/lines/tubes upfront going into the Caliper. OP has some options to choose from based on Clarity. The Wheelers are a nice flexible hose upgrade if needed. The Toyota Tubes
(if needed) are a perfect OEM fit.

If you're talking the hose section you can pick those up at the parts store.

If it's the hard line and you need it today take the old one to Napa and have them make a copper/nickel line for you with the proper fittings and bend it into place.
