I just can't stomach the interiors of the 2nd Gen Tacomas (and 2003-2013 4Runners and 2007-2013 Tundras) ....it's like whoever designed the TV set for Buck Rogers in the early 80s designed their interiors. Even the much improved 2014+ 4Runners/Tundras still aren't great. I couldn't bring myself to buy a new Toyota truck/suv till the 3rd Gen Tacoma...then they shit the bed with the eng/trans combo. After I decided to get rid of the 2017 Tacoma I test drove the 2019 4runners/Tundras several times and but I just couldn't make myself spend $45K+ on vehicles with those interiors....so on to my next FGT search I went...

That GM 4.3 may just be the most underappreciated motor ever...

3uz running 2uz vvti manifold should make a decent bit of power. Little lower torque, but less weight abs more hp.

When I've thrown around the idea about selling my 1 owner 2001, SoCal, no rust, Tundra I always figured about $8000.00 at most, even with only 95K miles. Truck prices are getting crazy.

throw it on bring a trailer and you could pay for half of a new truck. LOL crazy prices.. BaT and cash for clunkers destroyed the used car market. CFC was a while ago, but still felt to this day. BaT is more recent.

I don't know if i would sell it, I guess I'm a bit attached to it. The BaT ad got me thinking, so I looked in my filing cabinet and I still have the window sticker, sales brochures, and even the my negotiated check that I wrote to the dealer when I bought it. I've never owned a vehicle this long. I guess it's doing a good job for me. I had a beautiful 1972 Chevrolet 3/4 ton with a factory 402 and 4 speed back in the early '80's, top of the line cab and interior. Low miles, less than 80K i remember. Those in great shape today bring silly money too. I wish I had that one too. Wonderful truck. Sigh.

keep it. you'll regret selling it. unless you seriously need something larger, or the money. why get rid of something you enjoy?

The Ridgeline fits a certain set of needs pretty well: it's not a ridiculously oversized full-size pick-up on steroids, it's got AWD, decent towing capacity if all you need to tow is 5,000 lbs, better mpg, a dry trunk, it's super comfy, etc.

It's not for me or for you, but it's got its (few) rabid fans because it's different. Being different is the only way Honda has a chance to sell pick-ups.

What would make no sense is Honda trying to be direct competition in the mid-size or full-size market. It'd take them 20 or more years to get any traction at all.

True. The cost of a new truck is out of the question too, and at this place in life for me I'd rather spend my vehicle money on motorcycles anyway.

I've been a Honda car and Toyota truck person for over 30 years. Honda knows how to build shit right when they decide to. Rumor has it that Honda had a real new from the ground up mid-size Truck competitor in the works but that they killed it because of the financial crisis in 2008. I would have given it a shot if it was a real truck...and I know I'm not the only one.

I agree the current Ridgeline has its place and it was stupid cheap for Honda to design/build....it's just an Odyssey with the back chopped 1/2 off and turned into a bed. Hell, I'd like that AWD system on our Odyssey...

Current bid is $14.5K. You could sell yours for $20K and have enough money to buy a 200K mile 1st gen Tundra with enough money left over for an early XS750. ;)

I get it, but a Ridgeline is an SUV with a bed. I get the comfort and convenience thing but if one is considering a Tundra it's for the body on frame and towing capacity, with a modicum of comfort. I considered it too, but it was not enough. It's apples and oranges.

If I were Honda I would consider building a lifted Odyssey with Ridgeline suspension and AWD, folding middle table and swivel seats. Odyssey Weekender!!!

Back in about 1984 my friend bought a brand new RZ350 for around $1800.00 i think. (Granada Yamaha) I've owned lots of 2 smokes, even a couple of Suzuki water buffaloes, If you remember those. My first street bike was a lightly used RD350. Sorry for the hijack, i just like talking MC's. cheers. I'll be good now.

I had a Canadian market RZ500 with Nikon pipes, massaged carbs, FZR1000 suspension and a YZR500 bodykit painted in Marlboro colors...I've gotta find those pics.

This is not mine, but it looked like this....

It was hella faster than the RZ350, but the 350 with it's upright seating position was more funny....could wheelie that thing for days.

Yeah those were the top of the food chain. The days when you could buy factory muscle cars and street going 2 strokes, never thought they would go away.

Not sure exactly what bike it was, but I’ll never forget this time going over a 4 mile long two lane bridge. Speed limit is 55mpg. Guy on a bike like this one you pictured passes me doing a wheelie. He stayed in the wheelie until I couldn’t see him off in the distance. I was scared for the guy, but he seemed like a pro.

Once you get the hang of them, they are easy and you can go for days...I learned on my Huffy....

I was never a fan of doing them high speed around other cars though....just too much chance for something BAD to happen...
