I have an 01 limited 4x4 tundra which I believe has a rear oil seal leak. I was wondering if anyone has had the same dilemma with a First gen.

My back right wheel where the axle and wheel go on seems to leak a greasy substance that coats the inside of the wheel and drums and has started to sort of drip down my tires on the inside of the car.

I changed the oil seal once before thinking it would fix the problem but has started happening again. It’s only been around 6 or 7 thousand miles since I did this as well.

Was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or knows a solution.

    Thanks!

It's a known problem. Take a look at your rear diff breather and see if it's clogged. I'd recommend doing the rear diff breather mod since it's easy and alleviates the breather all together. Much beyond that it's gonna be a challenge. Further details here:
