Well the long block had to be returned for the core charge and honor the warranty, so I don't possess it anymore.

So long story short, got it back from the mechanic and the new engine was blown as well so I bought a newer motor from Spalding pulled out the new blown motor and put this motor in and it is now running but I still need to return the old motor and I need a couple of exhaust gaskets but should be good to go

How the hell did the 1st place sell you a blown motor. You need to sue their asses for time lost. I don't mean to be one of those sue-happy folks, but it just irks me to no end that you're buying a used engine, and either the mf'ers didn't run it before pulling, didn't fully test before selling, or knew it was blown already. You spend 15-20 hours work putting the damn thing in, then pay a mech to check it out (I'm guessing) only to find out you got sold a bad engine.

I was pissed when I got my last blown engine. That one engine, like 18 years ago, is why I tell everyone to test compression on arrival. 15 minutes will save you 15 hours later. But unfortunately compression test won't find every problem, and may actually be what the people who sold it to you relied on ....

Exactly what you did: Pick up, move on, solve the problem, live life to the fullest.

    Props for that.
