I completely understand! I am all about keeping the stock look, I even go back and forth with putting the stock wheels back on!

Nice setups... Been wanting to do this but it's too bad my seat won't tumble forward anymore in the double cab... Anyone have this issue? I'm at a loss. It's the "60" half of the back seat. Pull the ring, no release. grrr

Does your Bazooka sub still work? Comparable to contemporary equipment? Mine is wimpy.

I bought mine as new old stock - so it's only been hooked up for a few years. The radio doesn't sound that good but BT sounds really good considering what it is.
Of course a good 8" amped (in a proper enclosure) would blow this away. It now sounds like a pretty good stock system.
Mine is also the amped version with the JBL system; some were the non JBL setups and didn't perform near as well...

I fiberglassed a box for my '06 DB with an 8" IDQ sub + US Acoustics USX600D amp. It has an MDF top and I didn't cut the plastic off the seat. I placed four rubber spacers around the sub which kept the seat off the woofer. Worked for 14 years, pulled it out of my truck last week, as decided to not sell it with the truck.

I used one sub because the volume of the box was near what the sub required. Would definitely rattle the rear view and passenger mirrors. I think the amp was 375x1 watts @ 2 ohms and think the sub is 400 to 500 watts at 2ohms.

I have the single sub version from Car Audio Factory. At the time I got it I couldn't find many 8 inch subs that would fit. The air space is tiny and the seat plastic would touch the subwoofer roll surround. Just decided to not use it. That fiberglass enclose has more air space I'm sure.

I just installed a new stereo in my 05 but I was disappointed at the lack of bass from the new set up. How do you like the bass from your kenwood? This looks like a simple solution to get a nice bass sound without rattling the truck apart.

all JL audio and Alpine beat in custom center console, reverse cam, Amp Power Steps, Bilstein 5100's on 4th notch, VIAIR 380C compressor and 2 gallon tank
I built a new center console in my 2006 DC. Replaced all door speakers with JL Audio C1-65x. Replaced head unit with Alpine iLX-W650. Added reverse camera. I tucked the amp into the front section of the enclosure under the cup holders. The new center console has usb plugs at the front and rear for charging as well as lighter plugs for accessories. My 5 channel Pioneer GM9605 powers it all. This JL Audio 8W7-AE slaps hard. The box is a ported 1.2 CF enclosure. Couldn’t be happier. Didn’t really lose any space. Never really stored anything in the center console. Only used the cup holders so i didn’t really lose anything when I swapped it. I have a couple of YouTube videos out there if it. If you want to see them, look up sully916.

Not following you on this one. What area are you talking about? Your profile says you have a DC, there's so much freaking room to mount subs in the floor, there's almost no need to stick them elsewhere.

So I made one for the rear seat. With the port facing the front. Mine is a access cab and it's been in three trucks this far.

As someone who worked for a shop that competed in a number of IASCA events bitd, I've seen people with two 8s in various events destroy others running 10s and 12s and seen 2x8 DVC setups give someone with a single DVC 15 setup a run for their money.

I hafta ask: Do you have some kind of 'size matters' viewpoint, or similar size insecurities pushing you towards 2x10s versus the multitude of double- and triple-8" solutions readily available?

^^GD! I'm too chicken shit to do that anymore...just keep envisioning something happening to the surround.

I'm odd man out with an AC, but I remember looking at a sub that would mount in the center console. I think JL made it, but I can't find it for the life of me. I miss car audio...
