Yup, was extra careful measuring for that clearance. Didn’t want to cut the grill, there’s really no way to re-attach it anywhere if you cut it.

Saw this thread pop back up and realized I never made good on my promise to post pictures once it was painted. Better late than never, I guess…

Where did you end up mounting the relay box?

I’ll have to take some pictures, but I bought the relocation kit with the extended cables and was able to situate the box in the engine bay on top of the passenger wheel well. There’s a big section of unused space there (at least in mine). The plate bumper came in handy, because I was able to hide/stow most of the cabling behind there.

Man that turned out fantastic. So because of the grinding, welding and bracketing you mentioned, is the ARB still removable or would you consider this a permanent mod? And was all that modification to the bumper or some to the truck too? Looks amazing just wanting something that’s temporary in case I go in a different direction since my truck is totally stock. Would also love to see some close-up pics of your mods you did to get ‘er done.

Looks like another guy put the same bumper on his T-100 and someone else got it to work on an 06 DC. See this thread at Mud.

Permanent. Even to install this bar on the 100 series LC would be permanent to an extent because it involves cutting off the bottom of the flange that the factory crash bar mounts to..... did the same thing on the tundra. Other than that cutting, the fabrication was all on the bumper and the mounts. I'll try and get some pictures up.

And yeah this mod has been done 2 other times as far as I know..... Both of them involved fabricating entirely new custom mounts from scratch. One guy tucked his in more than mine (closer to the grill)......slightly better approach angle but the trade off is that he had to cut his grill in half in order to open and close the hood. The other guy made mounts that actually wrapped around that bottom flange I was talking about so his would be fully reversable. He also pushed the bumper out a bit more like I did to clear the hood without modification.

Yeah, I see that now. I did a lot more digging and found exactly what you're talking about for people who installed these on their 100-series Cruisers. Once you put this thing on, you aren't going to be able to put your old OEM bumper back on unless you also weld the crash bar back on. Need to give it some more thought, for sure. I love that ARB bumper but my OEM bumper is pristine.

Finally got some pictures. Nothing fancy - still need to finalize the cable management. Measured incorrectly and have to order yet another cable to route to the battery the way I want.

Y'all, what year 4runners ARB fit our trucks? Found an 06-10 4runner ARB on market place for $500.

That'll probably fit. Those 4th gen T4Rs were the same size as the 2nd gen Tacomas. Which is what I've seen a few people use
Just going to have to fab custom mounts

Very nice, the ARB’s are solid bumpers. I had one on my old Tacoma. I would really like to add one to my Tundra down the road. What kind of suspension are you running up front?

Definitely new to me. They used to not offer slides for our trucks. I wonder if they make any skid plates now too. Those are nice and look very heavy duty. Kinda reminds me of Brute Force Fab sliders

edit: still no skids from CO for our trucks.

What do normal sliders cost? After fab work I feel like it’s a wash

White Knuckle cost $935 plus shipping now. Coastal would be ideal for someone that already knows how to weld. I think they look really ugly though.

    Are yours white knuckle?
I don't think they're ugly, they're similar to my brute force sliders. But BFF sliders do look nicer IMHO, because of the dimple die metal gussets vs the slotted on these CO sliders

I love the BFF sliders. I can weld but I would rather have the option to take the sliders off if needed...

A forum member @BashFab posted some pictures a while back of some sliders he was building for customers. I tried reaching out to him but never heard back. Here is a picture of some sliders he built for someone. I really like the design.

I don't know, probably just one of those things where I like the idea of being able to do something but then never do it.
I saw that some of you were going but I'll be hunting in east Tx with the family. If you guys head there again or any where else let me know.

I reached out to him back in May and he gave me a quote. He's only a couple hours drive away (Columbia, SC) and offered to install them as well at no charge. Still trying to gather funds for them.

Any thoughts on or reasons to not consider possibly modifying a TJM for a 100 series or 4 runner. Seems it could be made to fit. I have always considered the TJM the best looking bumper, similar appearance to the BFF and Coastal. Weighs in at 85-105lbs (that's without winch-plate I believe), winch compatible, has jack points, price isn't too bad.

I've have a 97' T100 for 16 years and have always wanted the TJM T17 bumper for it but could never find one for sale. Just picked up 2006 DC a couple weeks ago and have some ambitious plans, probably gonna be hanging around here a bit.

I really like the clean lines of this bumper. I actually called them today and unfortunately there tech/fab guy was out today so I couldn’t ask him about it. I’m thinking it could certainly be done.
