Yup, was extra careful measuring for that clearance. Didn’t want to cut the grill, there’s really no way to re-attach it anywhere if you cut it.

Saw this thread pop back up and realized I never made good on my promise to post pictures once it was painted. Better late than never, I guess…

Where did you end up mounting the relay box?

I’ll have to take some pictures, but I bought the relocation kit with the extended cables and was able to situate the box in the engine bay on top of the passenger wheel well. There’s a big section of unused space there (at least in mine). The plate bumper came in handy, because I was able to hide/stow most of the cabling behind there.

Man that turned out fantastic. So because of the grinding, welding and bracketing you mentioned, is the ARB still removable or would you consider this a permanent mod? And was all that modification to the bumper or some to the truck too? Looks amazing just wanting something that’s temporary in case I go in a different direction since my truck is totally stock. Would also love to see some close-up pics of your mods you did to get ‘er done.

Looks like another guy put the same bumper on his T-100 and someone else got it to work on an 06 DC. See this thread at Mud.

Permanent. Even to install this bar on the 100 series LC would be permanent to an extent because it involves cutting off the bottom of the flange that the factory crash bar mounts to..... did the same thing on the tundra. Other than that cutting, the fabrication was all on the bumper and the mounts. I'll try and get some pictures up.

And yeah this mod has been done 2 other times as far as I know..... Both of them involved fabricating entirely new custom mounts from scratch. One guy tucked his in more than mine (closer to the grill)......slightly better approach angle but the trade off is that he had to cut his grill in half in order to open and close the hood. The other guy made mounts that actually wrapped around that bottom flange I was talking about so his would be fully reversable. He also pushed the bumper out a bit more like I did to clear the hood without modification.

Yeah, I see that now. I did a lot more digging and found exactly what you're talking about for people who installed these on their 100-series Cruisers. Once you put this thing on, you aren't going to be able to put your old OEM bumper back on unless you also weld the crash bar back on. Need to give it some more thought, for sure. I love that ARB bumper but my OEM bumper is pristine.

Finally got some pictures. Nothing fancy - still need to finalize the cable management. Measured incorrectly and have to order yet another cable to route to the battery the way I want.

Y'all, what year 4runners ARB fit our trucks? Found an 06-10 4runner ARB on market place for $500.

Is it possible to do this install without welding? It sounds like everything you welded was just for reinforcement right?

I'm planning on doing this soon and I'd like to do most of it myself and then take it to a welder if needed for reinforcement? Do you have any pictures of the mounts?
