Yes its better to replace the cables as well. I had a no start issue on my 07 Tundra. I thought it was related to starter. I even bought the original OEM starter to replace. But the issue used to happen intermittently. I observed that my battery cables were in bad shape. i.e. light green in color going into the wire sleeve. After some mulling around. I thought f-it let me replace the battery terminals..when I dug into it I found at least 4-5 inches of light green stuff on my cable. Thats where I said to myself I have to replace this cable.. so let me do it right.. which is why I got the correct equipment to properly fix the battery terminal. I spliced the wire with new wire and waterproof heatshrink. Never had a problem with starting again. My new starter will sit on the shelf for another day.
