Not so fast. Well, maybe. I have to confirm what I know is true, but I'll share when I do or I'm wrong.. If I'm right and it's the skids together, then pulling the middle one will fix it. It was fixed while it was out before. And, if it's all three skids working together to create the problem, then I'll figure that out.

This reminds me, I wanted to check my bed bolts. I have a sneaky suspicion one is loose.

NGL, you might've posted this in jest, I dunno. It's honestly why I don't post pics of what I've got. With all the [edit: don't want to veer off into political territory] dumbasses doing foolish nonsense right now, there's too much special interest and attention on who has what.

If Apple can easily parse devices and scan your images to find pedos, Bacefook can link you to 50k websites you visited, what you bought, looked at, or typed then sell to anyone interested, and scAmazon can magically advertise you some product you mentioned to a buddy on a call earlier that day, it's no stretch an entity that shares $1t of our yearly nat'l budget can easily attribute what you've posted on the public internet to your list of possessions.

It's why you'll never catch me posting on the G&H forum here, and why I'm actually a little surprised that forum isn't only visible to logged-in members, sort of like Green Room and the Test Area forum are. At least offer some level of authentication for the general public to see.

I'm not a tin-foil hat kinda guy. I work in technology, and my employer has an entire wing that works deeply in the cybersec realm. No foil required, I've seen what's being done here and there already.

I'm not in the mood to pull parts at the moment. I did crawl under the truck to looks at bolt/washers on the skids. There are clear evidence marks of the skids moving slightly. It's not unexpected, the lateral force on these things should be significant if the frame has any flex. I really feel like the noise is the skid plates moving across each other - but even more likely, the plate(s) stopping movement at the bolts.

Maybe rubber washers? And drill out the holes.

I made some washers out of polyurethane, I was thinking the same thing. But I can only stack those between plates and bolts for vertical movement, not use them like bushings to account for slop or side to side movement. I believe it's like plate tectonics if that makes sense.

I'll start by pulling the middle (oil) plate again. If that eliminates the noise, everything is on the table. But, my welder is first to come to mind...

Technically this guy has been gone since before my oldest was born, 7 years now. Here is a photo of our pooch, about 5 and still quite the doofus. I sometimes think about swapping my avatars over but don’t quite have an ideal portrait photograph of Kimo yet. And he is way more mommy’s boy than mine.

And yeah, that’s some random snow in San Diego, I assume man made or someone brought back a truckload from somewhere and dumped it on the street.

Not only that, but at one point yesterday @alb1k quoted himself while talking about the noise his truck is making. Between that and smiliar avatars it was too much for me to handle.

    try walmart online?

If walmart doesn't have them and I can't order them, I just use the dealer program for them

Last order I put in for filters I ordered for pickup from my nearest dealer 15 miles away, when they had a 20% off coupon, along with a spare drain bolt and half a dozen washers, enough to get me through the next 50k miles or so. After tax and everything it was under $20 for 5 filters, 4 drain plug gaskets, 1 drain plug.

I won't need to order again for a while, but if I did and wasn't in a hurry, I'd just use Serra of Decatur since it's tax free and free shipping once you break $35 or something.

I've never seen a DC in person with these fender flares that I can think of, but I kind of like them. @jpink is one of the only other DCs I can think of that has them.

I think they look much better that way and should have been that way originally. More of an AC look is the way to go. :D

I dunno, I think it makes the cab look like more of a big bubble.

When the big chonky fender flares are on it, it makes the bottom half look beefier, which makes the top look like less of a bubble.

Stylistically, that's why I like the AC better. The cab and lower half of the truck are nicely proportioned. I'd get more practical use out of a DC having a family, but I can't get past the looks.

Not a fan of my flares, but they do match my window rain gaurds. When i look at it, xibit says, ‘yo dawg, i heard you like bubble’…. I think @evilrb fit some taco flares i didnt hate.

I would like the look of the DC if it was just an extended 4-door AC IMO. The downside with the thin chrome trim around the wheel is having to replace the clips after they rust out.

A lot of people just get rid of them altogether though.
