My personal choice for most parts is OEM, which would be 23030-62010. Some here have spoke well of wix but for only $25, it's OEM for me. My grandson can deal with it in 100K miles after I'm gone.

It's a total pain in the ass. There are hard lines going in and out of the filter. There is barely enough room to get the old filter out and the new one in. That is after you move the hard lines as far forward and back as you can. All the while, gas is dribbling out all over you, even after pulling the fuel pump fuse and running the gas out. Securing the bracket to the frame is no picnic either. Under the door was a terrible place to put the filter. Am I glad I did it? Not at all. The old filter @ 186K miles looked as clean as the new one. I think it would make sense if you live in a place with bad gas, but I would skip it if you live in an American city. YMMV.

From the looks of that picture the hole is after the mass air flow sensor, so he has unmetered air coming in. Since there is less resistance for air to cone through the hole than the filter, his car will run pretty lean unless it throws a code and riches up trying to balance it. I'm surprised it doesn't idle rough. He should really seal that up and get whatever intake he wants right away.

    Good job on brakes buddy.

    ↑ this.

ECU needs to see/know the air flow coming in through the sensor. This tells it how long to open the fuel injectors.

If there is a hole in the intake tube or a bad intake gasket, it will pull in air that the ECU doesn't know about. This causes the engine to run lean.

Fuck that fuel filter. I'll never replace another one. @dinosaur hit the nail on the head. Just leave it alone or let someone else do it.

I said the same thing. I told him I was surprised it was running right. Seemed to idle fine.

It should be illegal to put fuel filters in like that. I was covered in gas and melted tar off the street.

Yeah, it's fucked up. Especially because you're committed once you pull out the old one and the gas starts flowing.

Nah - your grandson is just gonna toss a Tesla crate motor in gramps old ride. Put a battery pack where he ripped out the gas tank, put a charger port behind the filler door.

I reckon you can tell a lot about a person based on how they eat Neapolitan ice cream.

Do you dig into the pink first, go straight for the brown, or dabble in what sits in between the two?

NGL, Popeye's is one of my ultimate fast food vices. That and Arby's and maybe Long John Silvers, everything else I could go w/o forever.

I could eat spicy 4pc meals all day, every day, every meal of the day. Don't care if it's coming with beans and rice, mash and gravy, fries, or all three.

We don’t have LJS here any more, but a tasty local shrimp/chicken/steak finger place that is good.
I’ve tried Popeyes and I couldn’t get into it, mine was super rubbery like Wendy’s chicken turned into: I used to love Wendy’s spicy chicken samich.
I tend to steer away from fast food because I’m always disappointed.
I do like wataburger, and burger kind and arbys are pretty tasty too

I'd say try it again, it's typically super juicy. If it was a breast you tried, look up "woody breast", it's an increasingly common phenomenon with chicken in particular that nobody can figure out, what's causing it, how to detect it - there's really no way to prevent it. I've gotten a few birds at home in recent years with it, you can confit the damn bird it's still gonna be rubbery. It happens.

And holy shit, I forgot about steak fingers! Chicken fried steak is one of my favorite things to eat, and steak fingers are, like, little finger-food versions of them.

I had only had pope yes one time in flow-rida with the family before taking this new yob. Had it three times this week. All free. WTF. Cool, but where's the catch man?

Anyways, LJS ain't for me anymore. We had it a lot growing up and I'm burnt out on it. All these side things are great too. Oh had the beans n rice so far. Muy delicious

haha the local place here that does the shrimp chicken and steak fingers, and most recently wings which I’m down with; my sister calls the place fried hair. Hahahah like you said Noah, kinda burnt out on it from being a kid, it’s good, but only like 1-3 times a year. It’s a staple from the 40s or 50s I think that still does pretty well in town. Their garlic butter toast(texas cut) can also be used for a hamburger which I’ve heard is spectacular

My parents always took us to Captain D's as a kid. But I didn't find the fish planks there to be that great, they weren't flaky, and they were dry.

So I guess for me, LJS is sort of a treat because it wasn't Captain D's. I mean, it was already good because I didn't hafta catch or filet it, and it also wasn't bass/crappie/bream/catfish, which we probably ate once or twice a week because we were always fishing for food. And it wasn't cornmeal battered, which is how all our fish fry went.
