Back in my early days of working as a CAD operator, my coworker set up a trip laser that triggered his screen shot of a CAD image to come up on his computer via the serial port.

It would trip whenever someone walked into the cubicle area. Pure genius! :D

I have one just because it's irritating to go to the restroom and come back and have to unlock my computer. It's a ridiculously short amount of time before it locks itself and our new passwords have to be like 47 characters.

I've got that for Bitlocker to unencrypt my hard drive and then my Windows password followed by my VPN keycode. It was only 10 years ago my company didn't care if you used proprietary documents as a coffee coaster or for origami.

Now because of all the crap with stolen designs they go WAY overboard on everything.

Now I spend at least 5-6 times a year to get a password reset because I forgot it or it passed some predetermined deadline.

    This I understand 100%.
We used to have to lock our computers if we left our cubes at the Lottery. Passwords were a million characters long and changed every 60 days. I was one of the few who didn't have every password auto-filled by Windows. (I did keep them written down in a secret squirrel location.)

Now I'm considering it now exactly for that. I hate going downstairs to make a cup of coffee and coming up to find my computer asleep.

When I'm at work its no biggie, but working from home the VPN and VMWARE take up to a minute to let me back in.

At my office people pounce on that and send a mass email to embarrass you if you forget to lock. It’s effective and amusing.

A friend of mine has two tickets for the 2022 Super Bowl, 50 yard line box seats. He paid $2,500 each but he didn't realize last year when he bought them, it was going to be on the same day as his wedding. If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place...

It's at St. Michaels Church, at 3pm. The bride's name is Nicole, she's 5'4", about 115 lbs, good cook too. She'll be the one in the white dress.

I caught a manager who I worked with who left for the day with his computer unlocked. I sent an email to his team of 27 saying for all the hard work they've done he's throwing them a pizza party next week.

Next morning he comes in and as he walks through, he's getting a series of "Thank you Danny" comments. He was clueless. It took him 5 minutes to ping me lol. I offered to pay half but he refused and he actually threw the party.

    AS HE SHOULD.
If you want to be at the front, you have to own your missteps. A pizza party is way less embarrassing than getting blasted in a meeting or email....and is good for the team.

Reposting from another thread, I'm in a bind!

    Hey guys, need some advice!
As some of you know, overhauling the front end on the 04 Sequoia. UCA's, LCA's, coilovers etc..
I'm afraid I let the axle slip out of the front diff splines.

How do you know for sure its out and how do you get the axle lined back up???
    :help:

I should mention, in the email I said "we aren't going for that Costco crap either, we're getting real pizza"
 the place he ordered from is called Ameci's, they were pretty damn good back then.

Should be very apparent from a visual inspection if it's in. Should be nothing shiny visible.
Lining it up is done by feel.

If you did, would you please let me know what's the sign? I'm clueless.

It’s actually kinda difficult to get the front axles to “pop” out of the diff, all you probably did was slide the shaft inside the cup or whatever it is.
Like Chris said you would also see a big gap at the diff where the axle moved outwards, the lip of the shaft and the diff have very little clearance, so it should be apparent visually, maybe take a pic from the rear where the axle meets the diff extension tube

I saw a muddy one yesterday while snowboarding. It was that dark metalic gray color. No chrome, didn't look bad at all.

You can also use the shaft gently as a slide hammer to confirm, little taps towards the diff and see if it moves, but it looks like your ok

Not that stiff. That'd be way too much friction and cause a lot of heat.

Could be. It was parked between two 4runners, I assume they're buddies. To me they just don't look like Tundras, they look like an imitation of a Chevy. It didn't look nearly as bad as the early reveal pics did.
