After buying the 3rd one for my wife and having someone steal it out of the back of her hitch receiver every time, I gave up.

Finally went out and bought one of these on scAmazon.

Isn't that the other way around for mileage? I haven't seen anyone pay $25k for any FGT over 100k miles.

I thought the same thing. I think it's more so about the crazy price increases.

Can you guys school me on coolant please? I THINK I need the pink or red. I forget. I just wanna use the Toyota stuff. I think the change intervals are different for them as well?

I just use the red and mix it with distilled water. My change interval is typically 30k. I can't recall what the manual says.

I thought the red was 30K and the pink was 10K or the other way around, or I think the red was better on aluminum parts? I don’t remember. I’ve researched too much! Haha. May call the dealer Monday and see what I’m supposed to have

No you don't have to change coolant every 10k otherwise you'd be doing it along with your oil changes. Maybe the pink last longer? You sure pay enough for it. You can mix them both supposedly. What do you have now?

Tundra on call- busted supply line, it was funny, the 3/8 side was barely hand tight but the plastic 7/8 was clearly to much mustard. Easy fix but huge mess when no one shuts off the angle stop. I think it flooded 6-8 rooms. On the 3rd floor……

At the time of that manual, the pink stuff didn't exist. I do know that if you have a service book, they list a coolant change with every 30k service interval.

I'm willing to bet 7 out of 10 students didn't know you could shut off the water supply line.

Haha your to nice, clearly it was 10/10! When I showed up and popped out the elevator, the entire hallway was full of people just looking at all the water, I politely said excuse me like 12 times and sloshed thru the water, shut of the valve and sloshed back thru as everyone looked at me like I just slain a dragon. I also had on a ridiculous cat mouth face mask, rocked it like a pro!

Crazy how much damage can be done that way! Had a renter call me that broke one like that trying t!o install a rack shelf over the toilet. I Could not for the life of me get her to turn the valve off over the phone. I got there within 15 minutes and there was water running down the outside wall from the second story and into the street! F***!

The poor girl was like am I going to be charged? I laughed and said no were you kicking it? Even if you were, no. It’s all covered thru insurance; we call out a big remediation company that charges us a dick ton I’m sure. They pulled out at least 24 carpet blowers!

Yes. It’s not much more for piece of mind to go OEM so I’d rather do that

Ah, never thought of that. I’ll scan the FSM (which I always forget I have!) and see if I can find anything.

    Edit: FSM says the same.

As far as change intervals, Kilmer makes some good points. Guy is a Toyota nut, if you watch his videos he has customers with 400k mile rigs that he has maintained for them since new.

    It's good
I can't really complain, but the last two days were ehh.
Yesterday, driving the company car; I get rear ended by the guy who got rear-ended by the gal who was texting and no brake hit.
His seat broke out of the mounts. My top shifted as I was hit hard. My words were, "what the fuck?!" When I was rear-ended 5 weeks ago I only said "fuck."
Off at 6 - really off at 9 because a mechanic has to come out from 60 mi away in LA traffic (friday night) to say my truck can drive.
Whatever, accidents happen. Not my truck. Back hurts a tad today, neck as well, but minor.
At the end of shift today I go to urgent care to check on my soreness. No appointments I'm told 3 hours earlier, but everyone behind me is called before me by name. WTF?
Get done with bullshit appointment, outside it's raining and the new tires it took me 6 weeks to get (still company car) - I have a flat. Fuck.
I put a 12V inflator in that truck, run it, no help, get the shitty oem jack to help the beads, get to 12.5 psi and stay there.
Shut off truck and listen, leak - inner wall or tread. Drop spare, raining, loosen 5 lugs, last one morphs. They were all over tight or seized, this fuck fails. Tighten lugs. AAA? Wait for them and they won't touch company car IMO. Walk to gas station for the worst best fix. Fix-a-flat. They don't even carry oil or wiper fluid. Tell them to fuck off under my breath. Walk to grocery store and buy two cans.
With a whole lot of lame stuff, make it home maybe 70 minutes later. It's 4 miles.
Get in my tundra, promise her a full size spare, thank her for actual lug nuts properly torqued, and think about floor jack locations on the way to the L store.

Pink pink never really breaks down like the red, pink is rated for 100k

red is older stuff, it’s safe with brass radiators. But it breaks sown and needs to be replaced every 30-50k

Regarding coolant... advanced auto parts had a sale online for zerex coolant a while back. I think it was $12 a gallon.

I bought close to 20 gallons. Worth the cost savings and it's not going to go bad in the jug sitting on the porch.

I posted up links to it, and tried to tell yall but nobody seemed concerned with it

I might be a contender for that one too. I think the last thing I did was some new wiper blades a few months ago.

I dunno man. I don't do much from basically November all the way to May each year. Other than a couple minor things, I really don't have much left I want to do. Figuring out the vibration issue is driving me insane though.
