Here's something I think @Tundra would enjoy with his trekking through the snow in 4wd...never stop on a hill on a snowy unsalted/unsanded road.

It was 7 here this morning. 60 is too cold I'm all about shorts and bare feet in the house lol. That thing is set to 70 all year round for me.

Used to do 64 degrees in the house, then we had a kid and the wife stays home so i have acquiesced to 67. If it was her call its be 70. If it was mine it would be 62

Dave Ramsey also rails against credit cards and debt of any form other than a mortgage. Every millionaire I know uses credit cards and understands how to use them for financial gain. They also know when and how to leverage debt.

Ramsey is good for low income people who are deep in debt and have no impulse control. Other than that, his advice is more apt to keep you from ever getting ahead.

I agree with this. If you're paycheck to paycheck or close to it his plan is pretty good.

There is nothing wrong with debt/credit if it's used responsibly.

I agree. I don't like a lot of his advice. That statistic about millionaires just stood out to me. It could also be bullshit. :notsure:

That's a bit cold even for me. We do 66 this time of year and 73-74 in the summer. I'd love to keep it at 70 year round but I'm sure it would cost a fortune in the summer.

We try keep our house at 60. In summer, because we don't have AC, the interior temp will hit 75 to 80 sometimes. It's horrible and I literally die.

It's nationwide for participating dealerships, big perk with Serra is no-tax, and free-ship over $75. Serra's usual go-to is 20% off at select times, usually once every 6-12 weeks. I'm thinking this sale deal is limited to 10% because it only covers TRD-specific stuff, which sells at a higher price point/lower markdown.

Yeah, I was oblivious to the savings when I first moved in many years back, but now with only a 5 degree difference from 70F to 65F, I save about $50/month in gas.

No so bad for having to wear a hoodie or sweatshirt most of the time.

I'd at least get a dehumidifier if you can't put in a window AC. It's better to have 35-40% humidity over 65% when it's 80 degrees out.

We actually have to put a humidifier in our bedroom. It's really dry where I live.

Haha @Outbound so you were being sarcastic originally. There are some people I know that hate humidity at almost any relatively warm or hot temperature so I wasn't sure. :D

I hate humidity and I hate heat. I literally die at 80 degrees. :D

It's 40 degrees here right now. They say it's 54% humidity. Feels a bit lower to me, but meh. I'm perfectly comfortable. I like these cool temperatures.

    Hahaha this is hilarious.
Last winter we kept the house at like 72-74, I was being a wuss. This year I’ve been fine with setting it at 66 at night and usually turning it off in the day. I do have a small space heater in the bathroom, can’t get any peace with the cats trying to get all toasty while I’m trying to test the plumbing. Normally our gas bill is under 40$, but in the winter it’s gotten up to 190 if we crank the heat.

We have the t-stat programmed to drop down to 55 at night. LOL. I generally turn the furnace right off on near the end of May and usually don't turn it back on until mid September. I'm looking at installing AC in the house this year or next. Living up here in northern Alberta, I'd honestly probably run it from May to October.

I'd rather have to throw on a hoodie and sweatpants if it's a bit chilly in the house than have it get too warm.

Is summer the same? Or usually warmer?
I love going places like that and not seeing/needing AC, windows down cruisin all the time

I was gonna use this on my house fridge, beer fridge needs to be free. but if i can figure out how to wire it to my thermostat, this summer will be interesting.

We avoid Palm Desert during the summer, pretty brutal here May to September, daytime highs well over 100 for months. Fortunately it's rather nice in north county coastal (where we live) but it is a long summer to miss out on pools, easy access to tennis courts, gated and flat roads for bike rides, and extended family interaction.

Looks like 62 back at home so a bit colder but not all that bad, just less shorts-and-t-shirt sort of weather.

80 inside sounds rough. I could probably handle it with fans but I wouldn't get any sleep at night. I actually feel for places that don't have AC. I didn't know a lot of SoCal houses don't have AC until I went to San Diego.
