I follow the rest, but this part…did you over tighten this screw, causing the drum to drag?

Good evening everyone, I have a 2000 tundra with the 4.7 and I am pulling what hair I have left out. I cleaned my throttle body over a month ago and ever since then the engine idle is way too high. It wont drop below 1000 rpm and is ruining my new brakes. Anyone have any idea why it would do that and what I possibly did to cause it? I am getting this thing ready for my 16 year old and I dont want to risk him having an accident.

All I can say is if the problem started when work was done, the work likely caused the problem. I wish I was more help.

Are there any obstructions holding the butterfly open? Did you use anything that may have scraped the throttle body or chip the butterfly? Did you bend the butterfly?

2000 has a cable operated throttle so that should not need any sort of adaptation ritual after cleaning. Are any cables binding?

    Welcome to the forum

Maybe go back to a GM???

Did you plug the TPS back in? Can you pull the intake off and verify if the throttle body bufferly valve is closing all the way freely?
Throttle cable could have popped out of the bracket ‘perch’ if that makes sense

Not from what I can see. When I take the breather tube off the front of the butterfly it is sprung up a little. I can push it down but it just comes back up.

It will go down where its supposed to if I unplug my MAF sensor but it runs terrible. I replaced the sensor hoping that was the problem but that didn't work.

There appears to be no binding in the cable. I can push down on the cable itself and it doesn't move the cam at all.

    Anyway to reset the TPS?

The big thing is clear after. Doesn't matter if you wipe it on like the 3M kits or spray it on. If you don't clear after, they'll be hazy again within a year.

Tundra on call. Bat in a bucket, has no one ever trapped a spider and let it outside before?!? Either way, I gave this bat a good dose of justice, and some rice milk, he was on his way into the night! 8CBE1CE3-A37E-4ABA-9062-E0E082C17A4A.jpg56DB9E51-6A5B-4DAA-A495-2E49FDD35BCE.jpg8F961FD0-C682-42A2-8BCF-A55845746B10.jpg

I was going truetrac, and 4.56 rear.
Now I'm going e locker and 4.88 rear.
If I was 4WD, it would be different I think.
    Next tundra for that.

Hell I don't know on the burn outs. At TG we had a Lexus sedan cab, and a tacoma cab. They had me move those outside when I was taking my break from the forum. They to me they were going to sell them for scrap metal.

I was outside for at least an hour tearing them things up with the Komatsu. Fun times!

Bats are a common source of rabies in the US. Both through scratches and bites. Rabies is pretty brutal way to die and 100% fatal if you don't catch it super early, I don't mind handling bats, but I think a lot of 'normal' folks probably don't want that risk.

I have similar task with a Yarris waiting for me.

The Cerakote kit I think comes with clear.

But if you need it, 3M makes this a brainless process. I didn't believe you could get a good clear out of a wipe, but these are good for at least 1-2 years. I've used them quite a few times now, Advance Auto Parts carries them but so does scAmazon. Two different packages, same stuff.
