I had to go look, this is what I've used in the past.

Gotcha. This is the stuff I've been using, is definitely safe for all metals too. I haven't seen the stuff you're showing, where'd you get it, from Grainger? I'll hafta keep an eye out.

Makes sense they would brand the one you show with 'Aircraft' after the controversy they had about it being banned by the USAF and Army as unsafe on metals. :D

Yup I usually buy it for work. It's part of their industrial line so it's sold through a distributor network rather than retail stores.

Absolutely atrocious photo (night time, in the back of my work van with camera flash on), but just picked my wheels up from the powdercoater. Color is supposed to resemble Magnetic Grey Metallic (this photo doesn't make it seem that way, but it does.)

I will. I did a bunch of looking around and these were my best call based on very limited info. Build quality is there, So it's all fitment.

I have Rago fab on the V6. Kinda sit way up there, but I don't mind it. I can see how.others would be bothered by it though.

    I'm just used to it

I was very close to getting those, I rolled the dice because although the height is an advantage, I didn't love it. The Rago was the safest/best call I could have made, we will see.

I had to trim the cowl. Didn't do the best job, but at 60mph you can't see it anyways. Mot with the lights on anyways! Lol

I don’t get why nobody makes a tow mirror with integrated ditch light pod mounting spot and of course puddles and DRL. Seems like a no brainer.

My guess is heaving the light source that far back and that high up wouldn't be as effective. Which seems silly to me when you consider a lot of people are mounting on their cowls and having a perfectly find experience.

But you may've just struck on a product. Get on it, friend.

(Also recognize the lack of tow mirrors for our trucks is annoying for many)

I’ve always thought the same. Maybe the wiring isn’t there to handle a light?

I mean, power, ground, and five triggers gets it done. Turn, DRL, heat, puddle and ditch for triggers. The PAC camera module I gave can take + or - input for trigger, not that hard to auto detect that stuff and make it easy enough. Then power adjustment wires, can’t be all that hard to do those? maybe a universal pigtail or vehicle specific adapters for plug and play with reduced functionality but, shoot, not any harder to wire than a Gentex or the ditch lights themselves. DRL is easy off add a fuse, high beam too for ditch, turn should be there already or can tap headlight for older models, puddles typically off dome or cargo, heat is there or add w custom button. Direct lead for all power makes it a non issue on OEM wiring. Maybe some way to configure the turn signal flash style and DRL color. Not a lot of hardware. Sell for $1000 ish for the pair.

the plastic molding would be a pain and then the adapter plates and trim plates to mount to various tow-worthy trucks. But with the ‘98-02 dodge being a close match it seems like you wouldn’t have too much trouble machining brackets.

Ditch lights aside. Even if someone with solid works or cad knowledge could make an adapter plate from newer tundras or the dodge mirrors to our mirror base on the door they would probably do very well in our first gen arena

Agree. And with that said, the more I look at our mirrors, the more I approve of the styling. Round begets round, FGT has oval all ovah. So a rectangular tow mirror on our trucks might lose some of the OEM look. Still might be nice though.

I wonder if anyone makes a blind spot glass like the rav 4 I added to my Tacoma. ETA: looks like spotter does for 2007+, but I don’t see first gen.

In my opinion using glasses is more work. You'll have to wash the glasses.

I’ve decided when I get the free time I’m building mounts to go on the mirrors. I want the lights completely out of my field of view when driving

I'm so happy to see they have updated those lower mounts. Keep an eye on the reservoir hoses to make sure your tires don't chew them up.

I wimped put and picked geolanders (5 w 1000 miles in 265/75R16) so not sure my tires are going to get near anything. Stock Bridgestones are wearing poorly as I need alignment but I was waiting for the lift at a minimum.

I just need to decide if I’m swapping the tires to the 5x oem 16x7 alloys or I’m going to actually use the 4x faux grey beadlocks in 16x7.5. Can’t seem to find a good spare to match and it seems lame to throw an e rated tire on a stock steel wheel. I guess that’s not too strange for most normal people and I should just get over it.

Maintenance manager approached me. Slid me a 50 and Said go get breakfast for everyone. I asked what he wanted and he said surprise me.

Not sure if this is some sort of fucked up test or not. Never been in this situation
