Wow. Pier and beam homes and mobiles just don't stand a chance with winds that high. Even slab built homes get flattened, but at least you are attached to the ground. So much devastation.

That's horrible. Did your Sis know they tornado was coming or did they just leave because there were warnings? Where did they hide out? Do they have sirens that far out? We don't even have tornado sirens here.

Just got off the phone with new HR at new job. They asked me how we did during the tornado and I explained my situation was good, but my sisters situation was not.

They asked if they could send money or clothes to my sister. So strange...

I don't think that's weird. That was a nice gesture honestly. The fact that they reached out is nice.

They have no sirens where she lived. They didn't expect it to do much but went to her inlaws to be safe, better safe than sorry. They were in a storm shelter with a few other folks. They did not have room for the dogs, and you all know that story.

You have to understand that that is a complete 180° flip from what I'm used to. Shortly after I started at my last job someone had a heart attack at work. The wambalam was called, and they were taken to the hospital. Work gave them three points for leaving early and not clocking out when they left.

You have to understand that I'm not used to nice gestures unless I'm the one gesturing

This makes me wonder about something. If a tornado is on the ground are "they" able to send out notifications similar to an amber alert? I have a severe weather app that will send me some alerts but I wonder what you could do to get notified if a tornado is approaching.

No basements in KY? Must be hard ground or no value in it, although that will change.

Probably varies a lot based on the part of the state. Western KY is more flat than Middle and Eastern KY. I would imagine most houses on the other side have basements. I'm TN most of the older houses have basements and the new cookie cutters seem to get a crawlspace or slab depending on terrain. If the lot is flat you don't see basements as often. Not as common as the Northeast or Midwest.

My house was built in 91 and has a finished basement but it was built into a hill.

me either, ask my kids. I’ve told them forever that their plan shouldn’t be to live at home in their moms basement when they get out of high school, cause she ain’t got no basement. Both are successfully out of the house in college. We’ll see if we get any bounce backs. I came back twice.

I could say the same of Rav4s where I live. Although, they have gotten much better looking than they were in the past. The older ones with the spare tire in the back look more girly to me.

Definitely will do. It is not on the website. It does not require cutting. I only have this one photo from Billy for how it looks on the truck. It’s kind of heavy to move around.

I actually will have another package to worry about soon. I ordered new headlight buckets for the GTI. I got tired of the weak halogen projectors. To make it worse I've heard the vendor takes forever to send stuff out, but they apparently have good products. They also use FedEx
