If your new employer uses Siemens PLCs, you can get a free copy of Step 7 Lite (Lite version of Siemen's Step 7 PLC programming software) from the Siemen's website if they've registered the product.

Lower hose on trans cooler goes to rad right next to lower rad hose inlet (passenger side).
Upper hose on trans cooler goes to rearmost cooler line hookup on trans.

Line twords the front of the trans runs all the way up to the opposite side of the rad. (To driver side rad hookup)

That was enough to confirm that my lines are indeed hooked up correctly, and eliminates that possibility.

You're an extrovert and you put in effort to learn whatever you can. You won't get everything right off sure but if you're a decent guy and show effort to learn you'll get by just fine and the guys there aren't gonna mind to help you out and get you where you need to be.

Yeah it sucks leaving what you're comfortable with but in about 6 months or so you'll know most of what you need to and you'll start to feel comfortable again and feel even better knowing you're making more money and hopefully doing something you enjoy at least a little bit more.

Starting a new job can be stressful indeed.

I actually find parenting to be, far and away, orders of magnitude more stressful. I’m sure it’s my personality, I’m not suited to the work.

With small kids you are stuck context switching on 5 minute intervals. You can’t get anything finished. And emotions flip on a dime. My kids in particular are on a love each other / hate each other rotation which feels close to 60Hz.

Then there is the stress of getting them places on time, trying to stuff healthy food in, and dealing with potty issues. I find it downright brutal.

Granted I’ve been in my current work role for 9 years (some big shifts in there) but I maintain vastly greater confidence solving work problems compared to kid problems. Sadly, a fair bit of work problems (junior employees not knowing what to do and giving up quick because it’s complicated) are similar to the kid stuff.

Hence truck gang has become an outlet for me to self soothe. Outside of dumb things like me cracking my Tacoma passenger mirror while installing the RAV4 ones. That makes me sad. But all the other work, building stuff or swapping parts, it’s bringing order to chaos and giving new life to a trusted tool. That’s what I find to be the most satisfying part of life outside of human interaction (which is often a bit of a mixed bag and rarely predictable)

@Tundra2 , Think about all those clowns you work with now. They will be at your new job too. "Without mediocrity there is no excellence" Being good at your new job will be your choice, and I have no doubt you will figure it out and excel at it. Own your position, your experience, your knowledge deficits and start filling in the gaps. You'll surpass most of the people at your new job in less than 6 months, because you give a shit. In order to beat out 50% of the work force, all you have to do is show up. You can take out the next 30-40% by giving a shit and being good at your job. My goal at work is to be the guy they can't get rid of when they start letting people go. They look at you, and regardless of the rules or conditions they been given to get rid of people, you aren't going anywhere. They can't bear to do it without you. You absolutely got this. And I didn't know you worked with your pops! That had to make the decision harder. Good luck with your new position, even though you won't need it. Just go out there and dominate, don't just participate.

That's about 90% of the speech I gave my kids, or any younger co-worker when they seem a bit nervous or unsure if they can make it. You can, and you will. Your cut from a different cloth than most.

Interesting to see all the different CO2 cylinders that get delivered. This one showed up last time. I think the oldest I've seen dated was 1921, this one is dated 1967.

Heh, I became the FNG at a new Corp in August. Took some serious adjusting to be comfortable not being the go to guy. I love the change and team I work with now.

Bonus factor - I get to make mistakes and pull the FNG/ignorance card for like a year. It's awesome.

Is their coffee actually good, or is it just the hype? The temp brought some into work and hasn’t touched it since, nor has anyone else.
I sleep with a barista, so I’m sorta spoiled in the coffee dept.

I respectfully disagree. I'm a coffee snob and I think the coffee is really good. I guess you could find similar quality for a little less but I like that some of their proceeds go to good causes. I've also had guests stay with us that comment on how good the coffee is. My best friend is a hipster from Portland that uses a French Press and he agreed it's good coffee.

Thank you all. These were awesome to read, and wake up to refreshed. Re-read, and knots in the gut went away.

I love this community, and you guys. You guys are one of the most positive things I interact with daily, and I'm so appreciative of you guys. No idea how I can repay you all except giving you guys a build thread for a fucked up truck. LOL

Always buy! Never sell. Mofos at my local dealer tried their sales pitch on me when I was back for day 2 of “glue a plastic trim ring on my chmsl”. Hah. As if I would sell. They guy laughed at himself while giving the pitch.

Is this truck in Cali? How can I help enable your problem? Ride from the airport? Air freshener?

I usually go to the dealer in my creeper work van, and I don’t go full heather on them, but I just clearly say the word “parts” as I walk by like I’m a T2 that’s just seen John Connor
