Am I crazy trying to justify going for the budget reman CV axles from cvjreman? They’re $119 and come with neoprene boots. According to the several dealer parts shops I talked to the OEM remans are backordered indefinitely, and I’m not sure a reboot is in my wheelhouse. My boots aren’t failed but have some minor cracking and look like they could be on the way out

Just keep in mind those black lines are springs, they & the foam flex with the drivers weight. You'd have to be sure to leave room for seat movement. 'twood sux to feel a hard shape in the seat back.

If you put anything there you’ll feel it. That flexes in when your sitting

That's not bad. I paid $200 for a pair of Napa CVs ... Let's see if they last.

New or reman? The new ones use a tripod unlike the duel cv on the oem ones

I understand that. I was thinking if there was a compartment in there is would have an air gap with foam between it and the seat back. Still it looks like enough room to have a lock box for a pistol or whatever.

There is plenty of room. You could fab up a slim profile box or platform across the lower portion of the seat frame and it would work nicely. Those seat springs don’t flex that much (maybe 1/2” max). I actually considered doing something in that area after inspection when doing my seat cushion/lumbar mods. Mucho room.

That lumbar mod is the bomb btw. The seat cushion mod (firming up the outer seat rim) is pretty sweet, as well. So cheap and easy with huge improvement.

I found your pool noodle mod when I searched but nothing about the lumbar. What is this you speak of?

I don't know specifically what it needs, but I know these seats need something. I find myself pushing my left foot on the footrest to keep myself back in the seat waaaay too often. I scooted my seat up a notch last week but now I feel entirely too close.

Get one of these...best part is it will go anywhere, so great for multiple cars and air travel...and it rolls up to nothing. Worst part is it will go anywhere, so it's easy to lose. :) It really is awesome for lumbar support though, because you can put it right where you need it.

Its actually natural fiber insulation from a food delivery company. A pool noodle would work. Stuff the backside of the lumbar region with anything (between seat cushion and internal back frame). This bulks up/out the lumbar portion on your back.

Also, you can tilt your front portion of your seat tracks up by loosening and slipping some washers underneath the frame. Retighten. Gives the seat pan more tilt vs. flat feeling.

Anyone here use these ‘speed bleeders’ for one man brake bleed operations? Sounds pretty cool. I can pick up some from local parts store fitted to Tundra ( 2 sets of 2 for around $32). Front calipers and rear drums are differing sizes.

I’ve used them. They work like a charm, I just don’t buy them anymore because I have a vacuum bleeder

Confirmed at Toy Corp. this is the grease to use per spec.

Compatible with glycol Dot 3/4/5.1 fluids.

Not a bad deal, but the 119 is for neoprene boots, with OEM boots they’re 200 a piece

It's interesting how we all have some similar and some different complaints about the seats. The lumbar is fine for me. The only issue I have is that my left leg likes to roll off the seat towards the door. Almost like the foam there has gotten weak with age.

I just researched the axles my 4 wheel place installed almost 2 years ago. Good warranty on them. Seem quality. Just type in this pictured part number for further research. Check out that grease layer on everything.

Found out today, when buying brake fluid, that STP bought out Prestone Licensings to sell. Same product, but packaged by STP.

I guess I never understood untill I saw that cutaway, it looks like a flare type situation, the end of that bleeder seals against the machined bevel, the same way a flare nut does. Then when you loosen the bleeder it backs pressure off of the flare, letting fluid go into the passage at the top front and then out the nipple thru that check thingy. That’s a guess though
