Giving the thanks. Thankful for all of it, but this year, im most thankful of my poa (hoa). Same mail-in vote issue verbatim. But the new people were cool, had plans (i built a trail, but none of the river plans went anywhere), and everyone still seems to be aligned with “the good of the ‘hood”. The bikes and roads have been a blessing. I too, have missed my grandparents, who ive been able to avoid because of the ‘pandemic’ really been able to become lazy and comforable this year, and last. Ive smoked turkeys for a full house the last 2 years. Didnt invite anyone this year, but mom showed up. Probably as a welfare check. But im great. For realz, depending on mood i can pick which bike i ride. Cool and calm on the ulysses or in it to win it on the firebolt.

Quick question guys. I just got the wife’s go ahead for leather katzkins. Thinking of what color to go with and I don’t know what it’s called but was trying to match the darker grey on the interior I have like the top of the color. Or should I do another color??

White fabric with embroidery, and plastic covers over the thickest of white carpets, and have a shoe rack in the bed. Refuse to unlock the passenger door until shoes have been racked.

I am useless with colors and anything aesthetic but I will provide a photo of my katzkin in case it’s of any value. I suspect this color would clash with your interior? It’s not a super close match to the oem cloth.

Has anyone tried a king ranch furd seat swap?

i’d prefer a thicker leather if i wanted leather, but i think i want a pair of 80’s ford full length benches. Mexican blankets.

My wifes cousins came by and asked if I know anything about Jettas. Sure. "It started shaking really bad, I didn't think we would make it here".

I start it up and it has a rhythmical stutter. Check engine light and a few other lights on. Something told me look at the oil (even though my gut said vacuum leak).

I pulled the dip stick with the motor running and could hear strong vacuum suddenly... weird. I look at the stick and its bone dry. Wiped it on my hand, gray sparkles. Sweet. Shut the car off.

Gonna go get her some oil. I don't have my scanner or tools on me since I'm at my sister in laws. She's probably best off to sell this thing.

Stopped at Dunkin Donuts on my way to the folks for Thanksgiving. Parked at the car wash next door due to limited parking. Came out 5 minutes later and found a trail of antifreeze from underneath my truck pooled down the incline I was parked upon.

Checked underneath and didn't see leak; looked at the guy working at the wash drying off a Maserati who looked clueless.

Decide to turn around and drive back home. Looked under the truck on a creeper with a light and still saw no leak but the skid plate was in the way. Decided to load up with a gallon of antifreeze, some distilled water, a socket kit to remove the plate and a drain bucket and work on it at my folks. I was already late for dinner.

Then I just realized I was had....

The antifreeze supposedly leaking from underneath my truck was green.

4 quarts of Castrol later and the oil on the dip stick is where it should be. This is not the way to treat a VW TSI motor.

I don't have my vag com cable with me but the throttle needs calibration, it sounds like it has a vacuum leak, and the brakes are very touchy. She will make it home at least.

So, horse haul starting tomorrow. We can take the Freightliner which is the plan at this point. The original idea was the dodge 5500 with the 10 horse trailer. My bro in law replaced fuel filters on it yesterday and it won’t start no. Has a fass system (fuel air separation) which should be self priming. He suspects the fuel pump is clogged and thought about dropping the tank tomorrow but that seemed like a project we don’t have time for before the haul.

Anyone have suggestions for a quick way to get things going again? Apparently no suction / no fuel to the filter despite 4h of pumping and messing with it.

New Aisin window regulator with motor on order for the corolla. $60~ish bucks.

New upstream, and downstream oxygen sensors on order for crackie. Totals seen above for those. Swapped cars in the driveway around. Wind is still blowing upwards of 30 knots at times. 26°F here. May see what Bruce will charge me to install the new regulator for me in his nice, warm shop...

Should only be labor. I believe the glass is intact, but body hurt too much, and wind too cold for me last night. That was my last day off for a while.

Will be driving the Silver truck until I can get the virus fixed, or crackies new foulers/oxygen sensors on.

Yep that’s too cold to be working on vehicles. I take my garage for granted sometimes but am always happy to have a ‘garageless’ friend use it to work on their vehicles when they need.

If you invert the truck, the bubble(s) will change places with the fuel and sorta mostly prime the system.
That's all I've got. Diesel is actual black magic.

I should have recorded the sound when I turned it on after adding oil. The motor was previously going
    AAAAAAAAARRRGHARARARA

    but then it went
    AAAARRARGULPHMM...MMMMMMM

as if it said "ooo Castrol mmmm"

This was apparently done during the 4 hours he worked on it yesterday. But definitely worth a try again today to see if we get any fuel.

This actually isn’t so insane of a suggestion. He has a loader and an excavator. If we unhitch the trailer we might be able to get the front wheels elevated and do something with the aid of gravity.

VLAN = A separate network area, basically.
SSID = The name of your wifi network, basically.
PRC = peoples repub of china
    CCTV = Camera system
DVR/NVR = your recorder device, DVR is old term used for old camera using coaxial cable, NVR is new term for network cameras

    For my stuff:

POE = power over ethernet, technology that allows you to feed power into a device through a network cable, no wall outlet needed
QNAP = a brand name, QNAP is known for making great network storage devices
QVR = the pre-loaded virtual app that acts as an NVR or DVR, they put on their network storage devices, free of charge
UPS = uninterruptable power supply, aka 'battery backup'
