Spotted a first gen AC with a slightly similar bumper/spare carrier in Tempe today. Looked well set up.

Well I got my new scangauge with up to date firmware. Tried all 4 pre-2010 CANSF transmission temp xgauges and they still don't work. So now I have 2 scan gauges, one with updated firmware and still can't get my 5spd auto trans temp to work. WTF

That I did not know. I thought it was Tampa originally.

I do like St. Pete though. Downtown has that small city appeal.

Being one of the "Island" people with a house and a private boat dock must be cool though.

Totally ignorant on the subject so apologies there, but why are you obsessed with Taurus SHOs? Isn't it just a higher output tune on a commuter car? Please educate me.

@bmf4069 can correct me, but it’s a different motor all together made by Yamaha. What his obsession is, he likes mangling

Really? I had no idea it was a different engine. I read somewhere that SHO was just an acronym for "Super High Output" kinda like an HO Cummins is "High Output." I thought it was just marketing fluff for a slightly tuned up engine. If it's a completely different engine then it makes more sense. I mean, it'd be a Ford that might actually last.

    Thanks for the info.

I read up this am as well b/c I figured it was time to self educate. I simultaneously get it and don't get it. It was special and I understand sentimentality and the enjoyment of the older models. But it's not quite awesome enough to make sense to me personally. I do like how everyone is different in their obsessions, that makes the world pretty fun.

I feel like people get the same way about the '06-09ish LS4 Impala. Or maybe the LS-loaded GXP. I feel like there was another - maybe the 2000s-era GTO re-pop?

By far, Impala takes the cake: You can look like you're driving a rental but it's packing a 5L+ FWD GenIII SBC in it. Don't get it, wouldn't buy. Still love some bmf, tho.

Thanks. I've messaged scangauge before about this with my old model and I don't think I got a response. I'm messaging them again since I just gave them more money

Completley different motor, trans, and suspension. It's got a 3.0 yamaha designed and built v6 good for 220 hp. It was a game changer when they came out in 89. Bmw and Mercedes had the sport sedan market cornered until a lowley taurus came in and pissed in their cereal. I think them because they're completely unknown. They're a 90s sleeper car that wasn't mass produced, so they were rare back then, even more so today. They aren't the fastest thing out there by any means, but they have so much soul and are just a hoot to drive. Hell, I bet you're truck is about as fast as a stock one. Low 7 0-60 and a low 15 1/4 mile, around 143 top speed. Back in 89 that was around what a BMW m5 would do. Plus I'm a sick bastard and like vehicles that are.....different.

Don't forget the Monte Carlo ss.

But, there's one sleeper car I'd love to have. An early 2000s Buick regal gs. It's the ultimate sleeper. Grandma car packing a supercharged 3.8 v6? Yes please.

My uncle is all about the super charged Buick Regal, old lady car that will smoke your ass.
He’s passed me on the freeway in my work van, I called him and told him to slow down.
