'All hell' is a water main? Hmmm. Learned something new today!

No disrespect intended with this comment, but there surely has to be a better way than to drill new holes in your door.

I can't help but suspect maybe the fuzzy U-shaped strips in the window channel compressed or shrunk with age and time?

My rear center slider also rattles similarly, and I'm pretty sure it's the u-shaped channel felts that're just worn out.

Another congrats! In a way I guess you're kinda lucky. 1st one for us was almost 2 weeks late before inducing, then 20+ hours after that. 2nd was a little more metered, 7 hours start to finish, but came several weeks early. I think I'd rather deal with some bio cleanup than more than a day in the hospital just making it happen.

Half of our processes are water cooled. So the line busting shut half the plant down. The other half wasn't running to begin with.

I'm the only guy in charge of setting the repair stuff up for the next job on this shift. Everyone else is helping production limp along with spot chillers for closed loop processes. Unfortunately, our bigger processes don't have spot chillers. They are our biggest volume of parts sent out so we are literally missing shipments every hour.

    Lol

If I know the management here, they'll have everything run WOT until Christmas.

@Cummins3500 congrats! Enjoy the little guy!

When they redid the water lines 10 years ago they used PVC pipes instead of steel to save on cost at the time. Now every shut down (which we haven't had a proper one in three years....) we get to drain the water lines, and shut everything down to fix leaks.

Steel lines leak, and rust, but you don't have to constantly go back, and fix leaks every year in the same joints. Y'all ever closed an 8" butterfly valve under 120PSI knowing full well that the old joint could break at any time knocking you, and the scissor lift down to the ground? Too many times have I done this.

@shifty` man that’s one extreme to another right there. My oldest was 6 days late, 12 hours worth of labor all natural labor for my wife, because he was sunny side up. We opted for a birthing center. She was actually gonna go to the hospital this time but Finn had other plans

    @Tundra2 thanks man

@Cummins3500 Congratulations man! 9.7… That is one large and impatient baby boy. Cheers!
My old man delivered myself as well as my two younger brothers at home. He had planned on it tho, read a couple books and handled it. My whole life I’ve always thought that was pretty cool

Thanks man,It makes for a heck of a story. My wife had talked about wanting to do it at home but had agreed to use the hospital, we just didn’t make it. It’s good thing my wife had it under control. She had just read any article the night before about what to do if baby comes unexpectedly lol

Has anyone else noticed how laser printer prices have skyrocketed and available printing features have diminished with newer models?

For example, prior to the pandemic, I bought a 1200 dpi all-in-one laser from HP for $150 on sale but had to return it for a defect. That same printer now goes for over $300! (if you can find it)

Not to mention HP has pretty much stopped making the 1200 dpi lasers and have replaced most of the line with 600 dpi ones only which sux for detailed greyscale graphics.

I think my best bet is Xerox if I can find one in stock right now.

I wanted to print some 2 page pumpkin template, but the printer i have cant connect to my phone, and it wasnt worth getting the laptop out. Cause id have to check my fb messages, and i bet theres at least 50.

since i have a library card, prints are cheap if i ever need it. And thats more fun than going to the grocery store, if youre pickin up what im puttin down.

@Cummins3500 congrats! Bringing a kid into the world right. Seems kinda expensive for something that doesnt wheelie, but theres a good chance it’ll be worth it. Bonus points if it turns out cool enough to drive 20ish y/o vehicles.

i wrench my stuff because dad had me out wrenching with him my whole life. Out in the garage sleeping in my car seat while he ran air tools and engines.

Thanks man, my 18 month thinks the Cummins is the greatest thing ever lol, and when I do anything on the tundra he’s right there under the truck. He don’t wanna play with his fake tool set though when it’s truck time, he wants the real deal lol. I’m hoping little bro follows suit lol

While I’m on here anybody got any guesses as to what’s causing the sequoia’s abs/ anti skid to go off around curves and it dry outside?

we just had a bunch of front end work done but the only brake related stuff was stainless steel lines. It’s a little low on fluid but not terrible. Possible air in the lines?

Bad ABS wheel sensor? Does it happen on specific curves, left or right?

Remove the space and capitalize what's left, then Google it. It's a pretty ignorant blanket acronym the anti-LE crowd likes to use.

All depends on your viewpoint, I guess. 2nd page of that thread has a bit more context on the reasoning and some civil discussion on it. That specific term tossed in that thread is just as bad as - if not far worse than - the acronym I alluded to ... at least to those it's speaking out against.

Personally, I remain agnostic on it. Too many folks want to take radical stances these days, on any number of sides. Truth is in the gray middle area, which seems to be getting thinner and thinner.

seems to be left hand curves. But It won’t do it every time. I’ve tried carrying speed into curves trying to make it but it seems to just do it when it wants too

@Casper421 yeah 2.5 up front w/tricked ride height sensors in the rear. When it’s done it with me, it’s been right around 35-40 but my wife says it done to her even lower than that

I get it and I also don’t. Some words are off limits, sure. I was not previously aware that the specific word was so derogatory. It seems like off limits words can be easily blocked with a pre commit filter? It might be helpful for everyone to have the “off limits word list” very public. I definitely did not know that one specific word was so incendiary. I wonder, is “OK, boomer” off limits too? Or is this some sort of Facebook like rule system where language against a protected class is treated differently from language against unprotected classes?

Ultimately it’s probably not worth my time to understand. If I get banned for poor word choice, I get banned. No big deal.

Sounds similar to what 4runners get after lifting and the higher center of gravity screws with the VSC. Look into zero point calibration.
