Today was pretty sweet. No agenda but it was all a lot of fun!! We went to another cool place that was super close to town and not busy af at the moment. 9/10 I’d definitely return! 404D1503-E743-4CB4-9DD1-A0F2E245FF89.jpg
Our state has a lot to offer!!! More things can kill you here than Australia, not including locals!!!

Make lemons out of lemonade and start a Tundra Jamboree or something in your neck of the woods, although this may not be the best time of the year. I'm pretty sure a few would show up.

My 5speed fun times are over. Pops nailed a big ass buck this morning in the Nissan.

He still choogled on to work though! Offered to drive it home for him, but he declined. He will be driving the V6 until he gets something else.

Little behind on posts this morning but the dealer will cut you the Ilco for the $5. If you want a black coated Toyota OEM key it's like $13 they just do the cheap one if you don't ask I suppose. They also have the all metal key but they have to order it.

I had an interesting offer yesterday. I stopped by my buddies shop to see about rolling the rear fenders to stop the tires from rubbing. I offered them the SHOs before, and they wanted them, but didn't buy. This time they seem like they really want them, and offered me a straight up trade. An 02 pontiac bonneville ssei. I only looked it over a little bit and didn't drive it but it looks clean. Some clear peeling, nice leather interior. That supercharged 3.8 has a lot more potential than a SHO, and it'd be a lot less work. They're throwing a few parts on it and getting it registered. I figure I'll drive it a day or two and see what I think.

It seems like you're building up to the shitbox olympics.
The venerable GM 3800 is a stout mill. As long as it's not rusty, it's probably a big step up.

Maybe the only reason I would buy a Murican car is to twin with BMF. Problem is all my tools are metric. The only ASE tools I have is a skateboard wrench with a 1/2" and a 9/16" socket.

For something not required to be depended upon for transport to work, I agree wholeheartedly.

But for something that will be getting the call to haul our boy to work, I gotta go with increased reliability, lower rpms, and superblower herspers. He can always chuck on a pulley if more herspers are required.

Once he fixes ironman, he’ll have reliable. :boink:

i’ve been eyeballing those heatons for a while at junkyards, but they cost about the same as a core charge, so, if im gonna get one, might as well get a rebuilt one.

They come up on ebay pretty frequently and rebuild kits aren't expensive. Were I after one, I'd go that route.

Gotta make sure you get the right snout to distance that pulley appropriately.

Nice! I mean, I'd tell a close friend of mine to reach out, but he just opened a brewery and is strapped for cash, doubt he'd pay what it's worth.

Realistically? I think you could probably get 18-19k from a motivated buyer just because of the SC. Quick sale to random joe, or one of us cheapskates? $14k.

I'd love it if just for the SC. But My slush fund is sitting around 11k right now, so I couldn't possibly afford it.

But they couldn't keep you away, right? :cookiemonster:

Damn, is pops gonna dump that on your property too? BTW, whatever happened to the C1500?

Gotta be honest, Nissan is one of the only vehicles I've never owned. I was really close to buying a 350z about 15 years ago, but the interiors of their vehicles have always been a huge turnoff for me. They always feel so cheap-plasticky. The same way a lot of mass-manufactured cable boxes (STB) feel.

I'd say go for it. Your comment reminded me of that one time in high school, I had a shitbox 1985 Grand Am, mostly because I'd just crashed my '70 Impala 4dr and it was the only thing we could find for around $1k. It had a couple of small issues, but nothing a 16-17yo couldn't fix. Then, the day Nirvana was supposed to play in Tampa, just a few months before Cobain met his maker with that shotgun, I went to turn it over and .... nothing. ECU was fried. I couldn't make it. Still have the ticket stub. My other two friends hitchhiked to the show, a good 90mins away.

Cost more than we paid for the car to source a new one. I ended up with one of those egg-shaped 1980s Lemans hatchbacks, you know, the one that may as well have been the Aztek version 0.5? $800. Was a piece of shit. Had that for about 5 months before throwing a rod. Was flying down a straightaway backroad, probably had it maxed out at about 80mph in a 40mph zone :D and, up over the hill I see a light bar, promptly followed by the rest of the state patrol car and downshifted into 1st instead of 3rd and WHAAAAAAAAAAAAANG *FOOMP*

I've killed some 1980s Pontiacs, bro.

At some point, isn't it cheaper to have a truck with a bumper like mine than to keep buying new vehicles after ever deer attack? How many of your dad's vehicles have been lost to deer now?

It was actually a chicka driving it! Lol she looked like she was stuck in the late 80's

Not sure a bumper like yours would have helped in this situation since it sat so low to the ground. The frame horn has been pushed downwards.

I agree they help, but only if you're hitting them square. If there's any lateral movement your frame horns can still bend or crumple. Unless you reinforce them...

He's lost at least 6 vehicles to deer. I tried to get him to buy a bumper for that truck, and even offered to go half and half. He didn't see the point. Too much work, etc. Old school
