yup. toyota 3157 sockets are CK wired. most leds are not setup for that.
1157 is wired only 1 way. so the socket will fix it by making the bulb wiring proper

    Neato!
How long have you been doing all this? You are extremely knowledgeable about wiring, dash, clips, and most other things I have seen.

The 1st Gen threads are blessed to have that knowledge here. In my opinion.

ive been messing with cars since i was a wee child. I took automotive classes for 3 years in highschool, started working at toyota when i graduated highschool and have gotten training through toyota.. when you diagnose things you also learn how to make them better or even integrate new things into older cars. its my favorite hobby that i made a career 6 years ago. Guns, automobiles, and audio are my big 3 hobbies.

WOW! Thats a super cool life story already, and you're not much older than me.

I was a JROTC kid in high school. I had plans to go into the military, but I had some injuries and couldn't serve. Unfortunate.

I never thought about taking "shop" classes in high school because I was set on that chosen career.

I had always liked turning wrenches, and improving things. I started my wrench turning, and improvement holding the flashlight for dad while he cussed because he just busted his knuckles working on something I didn't understand at the time.

I ended up taking a few basic AIT/AIM classes in college.
    Basic electricity
    Basic hydraulics/pneumatics
    Others I can't recall.

I ended up flunking out of the KY fame program I was in because I had a "C" in math. They kicked me out, and a short time later I was out of college completely. I could not keep up with the 6 bi-term classes I was in.

I had to take frivolous classes as well which wouldn't help me. College is an overpriced money racket. Imo.

If I had a do-over knowing what I know now I would have taken all shop classes, and anything "trade" related as its called around here. My only regret.

I now work as a maintenance tech for Toyoda. We make weatherstripping, and airbags.

I am learning more everyday. Much through you @empty_lord

Not much to learn about vehicles when you service the machines that make parts for vehicles instead of them yourself. Lol

Thanks. I got banned for a month. Made a ton of money on virtual hand model jobs while in the bunker. Things are slowing down now. Instead of beating up on millennials and those who like to commune, I’ve taken to an exciting new hobby these days which is going mask-less to the store and creeping up close to mask wearing strangers. You should see them move so fast! Must be my bad teeth?

    LOL!

I will probably wear a mask outside today because of the pollen count, but I am not wearing one in the grocery store unless there's going to be a robbery.

I'm not clear on the why of people who've had it, tested negative twice, people who are cleared to be non-contagious & allowed to go back to work being forced to wear masks - but there are a lot of things confusing me just now.

Oh well, off to see a 2005 crew cab SR5 with the all important magical back window. 77k on the odo & looks to be built about to spec as I would order new. Hope she's an Oregon truck under her skirts & not a crusty New Englander. Wish me luck.

The grocery stores up here won't allow you in w/o a mask. It is now an enforced store policy.
I do look forward to going into a bank wearing a mask. Who ever would have thought that would be okay or expected?

good luck, but pre-2007 4 doors are called doublecabs :D then in 2007 they decided doublecab would be for the 3/5 doors and crewmax cabs would be 3/4 doors....gotta keep us on our feet!

Also, you probably already know this and/or don't give a $hit anywho

Nope - didn't know that. May matter going forward.

    So I went, I saw.
I figured it was over priced $3k, but it's overpriced $7,500. Didn't waste his time negotiating.
It's some sort of 'salsa red' & all the plastics have faded more than the metal. I really didn't like the two-tone of it.
    It's a 77k mile truck inside, a 15 year old truck outside & underneath it's a northeastern 15 year old truck. :-(
It would give me nothing ahead of what I have other than full rear doors, magic back window & a bench seat.

But I did have a nice drive on a beautiful day. Man! My truck loves to move, like LOVES it. Hang on tight, loves it.
Burned over a 1/4 tank of gas in 90 minutes of driving, loves to move. I think we bonded today.
My suspension is definitely not up to the engine/trans. If I were not a track-trained driver I may well have rolled my truck today. OOPS.
    but I didn't, cause I am. :) Phew.
Had some fun with a guy in a 911 convertible. Turned out to be Grandma in a ball cap - LOL. I'd like to meet her, any grandma can drive like that HAS to be good people. (on a limited access non-public road of course).
Also was running behind a lady in a T4R, drives like me. Like to meet her too. LOL. I like people who can DRIVE.

But that truck with it's new frame - looked worse underneath than mine. And had some bracketry in the front - not sure if they plowed with it, or towed it behind an RV. Suspension bits as seen from engine bay looked crusty.
    Sigh. Shame.
Someone is going to overpay. just not me.

Spent hours cleaning out my garage. Made a good dent but I'll spend all of tomorrow doing the same.

Just took a break to pump up the tires and take the old bike for a ride

    Did you expect something different?

Also doing a leak test on a 75 gallon tank I've had for years and never filled up. Got it for $40 long ago. If things go as planned this month I might find a spot for this in my garage and set it up.

    and so your Tacoma begins...
I finally ordered a proper receiver hitch for my '02 Tacoma today. Decided I'm just going to throw a Walker muffler on it to get it on the road again. The $300 cheaper Walker paid for all the hitch stuff including an adaptor for the Tundra which seems to only have 7 pin hitch wiring. Time to put time into my Taco & Taco trailer/RTT build.

A certain brake thread turned on a dimly burnt bulb in the back of my hand model brain.

What would happen if we by-passed our LSBP Valve?

In other words, just spiced all the lines together leading into the valve. Lets talk theory.

Wonder if raising and/or removing the bracket would prove this (without actually removing the valve)?

Your rear wheels will lock up really easy if you just straight up bypassed them.

Lift the rod to the highest position it’ll go and tie it up. Closest you’ll get. (It’ll still be a wee bit weaker than just straight no valve

We have a propositioning valve in our SHOs. One of the mods is to bypass it as it goes out often. It works on those because the rears are discs as well. Discs and drums take different pressure.

Drums take much less pressure to apply a Ton of force. Without that valve they will lock up
