So tired of cleaning my garage once a month and not seeing a lot of improvement. This weekend I did put a good dent in it. Only one corner full of shit to go through now, I need the wifes participation on that because... its her shit.

Got a short shelf up today, got wood for two more high shelves but had second thoughts on how to build them. I'll wait on them. Removed a closet cabinet that was here when we moved in, gonna put it on the curb with a "free" sign and cross my fingers. If its still there Wednesday night put comes the Sawzall and the trash can.



Fixed the vent on my water heater finally. That thing was the worst excuse for a vent I've ever seen, and I replaced it with the most proper looking vent I've ever seen. Don't mind the drywall, I'll fix that next year.



Tomorrow I might start this project. A beach cruiser semi restoration. Just a clean up, paint the frame, swap pedals, tires, tubes, grips, seat. Gonna give it to my brother in law. I'm not decided on what color yet. I wanted to play with making it look old, leave the patjna on the chrome and metal parts and paint the frame so it looks rusty. It was a free bike that I didn't need but can't resist a project

@empty_lord should I rebuild my 338k mile 5vz before I supercharge it? Or just replaced the leaky gaskets? Or just boost her til she blows? Lol I plan to buy the Magnuson kit new along with the URD 7th injector on Black Friday, assuming Gadget runs the usual sale on the combo. I don't plan on upgrading the pulley. Yet.

 

compression test and oil analysis would be what i'd do just before throwing a blower on.. if all looks good go full send.

i was going to boost my 300k mile motor with no regrets. but the rotted out mounting lug for the tensioner proved to be an issue that couldnt be solved without a full rebuild on a new block

Yeah I'm definitely going to buy the URD 7th injector kit. I believe it has an upgraded fuel pump included. I'd like to install some 12 hole injectors bit I haven't found any for the 5vz. I have seen a few larger injector options. But I don't think they'll be necessary with the 7th and may not work well together

 

the stock injectors are fine. but you can get the RX330 injectors i think they were.. same CC but the higher quaility japanese made densos. or theres always the supra injectors

What about some astroturf as a floor? Would that get trashed really fast? Probably need some industrial rubber flooring? Something to keep the mud out? Am I too much of a neat freak? Yes, yes I am.

 

What all does and oil analysis entail? I'm planning to change the oil soon. Not sure what oil is in it or how long it's been. I'll use Mobil 1 when I doarent the supra injectors a higher cc flow rate than stock 5vz?

 

The milk crate is a highly underrated tool. Mine has been a stool for wrenching, held up my skid plates while I wrenched, etc

Must have been water heater day. I walked in the basement to water pissing out of the supply line. Then noticed all the plastic on top of the heater was melted. Disassembled the vent pipe and found a dead screech owl in it.

So I have no hot water until the hardware store opens, and I apparently also need a new vent cap on the chimney.

 

Shit Noah. You're making great progress and rembering to take pics for proper documentation. I'd say you're doing just fine. My project is going slow between workings 60+ hr weeks with 1 night off per week and it's been raining a lot this summer. I feel like an inch worm for sure.

 

I work 50-60-70 hours a week, and then add two hours per day for my drive time. We have a similar schedule so I feel your pain!

I've installed shocks, URD short throw shifter, dash lights and I think that's about it. I'm going to take another go at the carrier bearing tomorrow maybe. I've got a new plan of attack since my impact wouldn't fit and only my small breaker bar and 14mm wrench fit. I've got a cheater pipe and learned how to lock two wrenches together for more leverage. I've still got a long list of things to do including all the fluids.

 

On the T100 or the T150?

@empty_lord Does your 5vz exhaust crossover pipe go under the truck or between the engine and firewall? My T100 is the latter. I honestly never noticed it on the tacos if it did
