What year MR2 is that? I had a 1991 NA model a while back and wish I never got rid if it.

I just replaced my steering rack for the 2nd time this past February. Side seals weren’t leaking but the top seal was. It had been about 4 years since I first replaced it. This time I went with a Napa 5 year warranty unit. I figure I’ll have to replace it within 5 years lol

Prius beat me today. Yanked out the hybrid pack-again. Redid my rushed work with new parts. Even used Wurth Contact Cleaner OL. (Someone tell me that stuff leaves a film that doesn't conduct electrons!) Car all buttoned up & still no love. Done. I'll try to dump it for $1,500. Defeated & CEL on again in the Tundra I stopped at the local dealership to see what they had in 'something newer'.
    1. They got almost nada on the used lot
    2. The fords - just not going there again
    3. The Chevy - you should see the rust underneath!
    4. the Tundrii were all just too big
    5. The Taco's all had those silly 5' beds. That's as useful (IMO) as a carrier basket on a coupe.
    6. There was one. 2017 Taco, cloth seats, 4x4 TRD Sport. Rust under only sorta starting. One of those hard trifolds on the bed. Flat L.R. tire.
Got home, looked it up online. New Taco on the lot was $35k. This 4/5 year old truck with 101.7k miles - they want $32.5k

The Crackhead Resurrection suddenly makes even more sense.

Guess I'll be getting my Tundra a new exhaust & shocks.

That's a mouthful, @NUDRAT. You sound exasperated. If you're the sort of guy, perhaps pour yourself a glass of sippin' whiskey and put it all back in perspective.

Cool. I’m thinking DD bar in lower bumper. But I’m currently distracted by bulbs for chmsl and harness for combo lights.

Exasperated & the reward just isn't there for the time invested to win the battle going forward.
Need to just walk away. Hate that. Anyone in the northeast want a project that will end up no more than a local runabout? :frusty:

I need to research some window tints. Could go ceramic, but ive always liked my grandma’s ‘02 rx300 with the blue/silver metallic tint anyone had any trouble with it?

for s&g’s i kinda want the most reflective superchrome for the back window.

clearish for the windshield, cause i mostly drive at night.

Your insight doesn’t read transmission temp from the OBD2 port? I have both a dedicated sender, and the built-in computer temp sensor readings on the insight cts2 in my 1999 24v.

High-end audio shop I worked for a couple years specialized in tint. Shop owner hated the reflective and colored tints for longevity and quality reasons. He used and sold Llumar's Ceramic tints exclusively and I rarely saw jobs come back.

You're not thinking about doing the full windshield? Or just the headstrip?

negative, it being a manual I had to add it. That g-56 with its aluminum case picks up a lot of heat just stock. Add a 5 inch exhaust into the mix and she’s warm in a hurry. I was gonna add the bigger trans coolers but one side doesn’t clear the exhaust. Eventually I’ll add a trans cooler but I’m not towing my 5th wheel no where near at much as was when I was contracting

Met a guy for an unrelated reason yesterday and while chatting turns out he not only has a first gen Tundra (with 80k miles) he loves it and won’t soon part with it. He only ever had to drive it about 10 miles/day for work. Used it to haul his motorcycle mostly.

So clean underneath. I need to get more details out of him, because apparently 24hrs after taking ownership it was struck by lightning!
