Direct power without an alternator pushing charge? I'm thinking maybe bad ground?

Call me back when page 6968 comes up.

You are speaking to a guy who barely understands anything about wiring. All we did was snip off my OEM connector, and hard wire the Baja lights to my original wires for the fog lights. I don't know if there is a relay.

    Here is a pic.

I suggest turning fogs on and shaking those connections to see if lights flicker.

    Am I lucky?

I've always wondered why the gauge cluster says "Fuel Door". Thanks for the info Heather.

Well, the truck won't be done until tomorrow. That's ok, I think I'll take the Sportster to work tonight since I put this new Le Pera seat on it I want to try out and the weather will perfect for a ride.

I liked the older cars where the gas door was behind the license plate. You didn’t have to worry what side of the pump you were on and it was funny watching a young gas attendant trying to figure out where to fill it at a full service station.

My Mercedes is like that…. It’s great I’m sure. But being rear ended would suck

Ha! You mean the large mousetrap-like device with a spring so tense it could severe your hand off at the wrist?

With today’s bumpers, yeah. Back then a lot of the car bumpers attached directly to the frame with no intermediate bracket. Great for low speed impacts. Not so great for high speed ones.

If you really want to confuse them, show up in a '55 Chevy. There were a number of cars with well hidden gas caps.
