No, we don't. One of the reasons I never even considered a Nissan Titty-an is because of the lack of space. Imagine trying to address an exhaust header leak; I'm willing to bet they cost twice as much to replace as a Tundra.

Same amount of work, gotta pull motor mounts and lift engine to put in longtubes. But the last 100k has had cracked manifolds, and runs great until its warm and you ask for more than 20% throttle. But once youre moving you dont need 20%. Its a yard truck now, wont ever need 20% again.

I was reading up on issues and modifying titans before I got my truck. Seems pretty typical stuff. Exhaust is expensive to get right iirc.

I was at my brother in laws house Saturday (of towel rack fame) and he told me I gotta see his new garage light. I went in there and was surprised how bright it was. He told me he got it at home depot for $17 and asked if I want one. I said he'll yeah and gave him $20. He got on a ladder and gave me his.

It screws jnto any light bulb socket and has 3 led wings that you can aim. I just installed it and made the big mistake of looking dire try ag the light. My retinas thanked me and now I see 3 blue waffle patterns every time I close my eyes.

This is one of those "as seen on tv" products that I would normally avoid, but hopefully it lasts a while because it really delivers.

So I went riding on Saturday before our birthday escape room time. Holy shit it got hot. Forecast said 91 which is about as high as I'll still ride. It ended up being 95. Gross.

We went in and escaped the room, and came out to overcast skies and scattered storms. We booked it to the other side of town for lunch at around 3. While in there it started dumping rain. Like a major turd floater. And I was on my bike. Fuck.

We finished and finally caught a slight break in the storms so I took off. I didn't make it 5 blocks and another storm hit. The street I was on was flooded. Cars driving in the center lane and driving rain. And here's Beau on his damn motorcycle just getting drenched. I made it home OK, no drops or flooding the bike, but damn I was scared. And wet. And cold. I had to get a damn towel to dry off my lower section when I got home. That was an exciting ride, tell you what.

My man likes to ride 'em dry.

Probably couldn't be arsed to cut down a regular plate so it'll fit snug up against the motor mount.

Truthfully, I’m surprised you don’t have to pull the engine. Seems like little to no space in there to maneuver.

Good call! It pays to know a pro! I can paint those black and then if it ever gets scratched I don't have to worry.

The first time being caught in the rain is a little sketch for sure. I have been caught many times now and just got caught in a complete down pour on the highway two days ago. Just kept riding, took it easy on the corners, and watched for standing water. Thank God no issues and dam it made me feel alive! Any more, althoug it's obviously not ideal but, I don't fear the rain like I used to while riding.

Also I ride with Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires. During that last ride I actually tried (not too aggressively) to break the rear loose a couple of times, these things stick like glue in the wet. Very confidence inspiring.

not that you can really tell from this crappy picture and mess of wires but I found my wire to trigger the exterior lights like I was asking about a couple post above.

I used an add a circuit tap in the dome light slot in the fuse panel which got me constant 12 volt power out to the lights. Then I needed a switched ground. Drop the overhead console traced out the map lights back to the disconnect for the main wiring harness overhead. I figured I needed to be behind the switch for the map lights to avoid the new lights coming on with that switch. Ran a temp wire to test and it works perfect. Wire is fished across, down the a-pillar and ready to be run out into the engine bay.

A little of both I guess. If it was just rain it would've been fine, but this was streets flooding down pour. Like, cars were getting stranded on the street I was on. When I put my foot down at a light it was in an inch of flowing water.

Gnarly. I got caught once in a downpour like that on the freeeway in the dark. Scary is an understatement. When it’s unclear if you’re going to actually make it home, takes a bit of the fun out of the ride, eh? I pulled off and waited for it to lighten up a bit, just so I could see. Glad ya made it

I'm excited for the new tacoma trd wheels. Just usually the offset isn't so good on 1st gens with the fender flares. People also always want like $1500-2000 for them.

So aside from a bad connection, what else would cause my fog lights to flicker? They are aftermarket Baja Designs that are wired into my existing fog light wiring and button. I noticed that when I turned the truck off the lights stopped flickering. That made me wonder if it's an alternator issue?

I would say a connection issue or relay issue. Hook them up direct to 12v and see what they do?

Yeah you gotta find the deals though. I scored a new set of 2016 TRD off road taco wheels and tires with low miles when I first bought my Tundra, after I realized I missed the bald tires due to tunnel vision and love at first sight lol. Anyways I paid $500 iirc, maybe $400 for the set of 16" wheels and tires plus the spare. Used em for about 2 or 3 months til I got my lift installed and got new wheels and tires, then sold em for $50 more than I paid for em. The deals are out there.

Haha not sure, but you could still test directly to power with the truck on and then off to further verify your ALT assumptions.
Could be how you have it wired to the fog circuit, are you using a relay with the BD lights?
