Crappy day and I’m mad. Drove my buddy and I’s dirt bikes to the local trailhead parking lot. Came back to find my rear tire slashed, front pass window broken and my iPhone with wallet case stolen. So bummed. The worse part is I have to go to the DMV for a new license now, credit union for a new card, not sure what to do about a phone yet and get a rental till I get a new window installed which who knows when that will be. the good news is they didn’t take my cats lol.

    people are assholes

    People suck.

Time to invest in dash cams that work when parked (and aren’t too noticable)

my 01 Tacoma had its window shot out. But luckily I caught the fuckers that did it while they were digging through the inside of the truck. They stop dead in their tracks with a .45 pointed at them till the cops came…

still pissed insurance wouldn’t cover an oem widow and now it’s got that stupid wavy pos aftermarket window

I’ve been looking for one as of late actually but still not sure what’s a good one to get.
Yeah. There was another car in the upper parking lot that had the same thing done to them and then 3 more that day on the south side of town that the officer told me when I talked to later last night.

Oh man. Thrice was (is?) one of those bands like Atreyu that put on a pretty solid live show. But then you buy the record and it's a totally different band.
    Ugh. I miss live music.

Incredibly relatable. If lane-splitting was allowed in IN, I'd buy one for my commute. These MFers out on the roads are doing everything but paying attention and I have zero intent to die on/under/near a motorcycle.

I've lane split multiple times even though it's not legal. 2 dumasses next to each other seeing who can do the speed limit the fastest. I'll give em a bit to see if they'll pass, then make it known I'm behind, and if that doesn't work I'll just go between them.

In town is a different story. I won't do it there unless specific circumstances.

I don't know Apple, but I know there's a way to log into your account & see any pic's they've taken with your phone - hope for selfies.
If they're not using the camera go to an Apple store & have them brick it so they can't even sell it.
and get the S.N. listed as stolen phone so it's completely worthless to them.

I'm always impressed when I see the West Coast members up this early. @FrenchToasty what time do you go to work? AZ doesn't do daylights savings right?

I think we’re the only ones who don’t practice that silly daylight savings( I like it because you can actually feel the seasons change)
I get up before 5 and leave by 6.
So I need to hurry up and pinch this one off!

That's rough. I got up at 0800 and walked 15 ft down the hall to "work". I'm still pissed they are making us go back to the office 5 days a week after being at home 15 months.

Not usually but it's happening more lately. It's been too hot in the afternoons to do anything outside so I end up sitting around and falling asleep super early.

You should hear us bitch about the office staff that hasn’t been in person this entire time, haha only because we wish we got paid to work from home. But it’s strange, my sister got a job at the local community college and she said their maintenance staff has been doing split weeks of on and off, all paid…..

True, but living in the city, I've learned you can't leave anything in your vehicle, period, and since the economic downturn around '08 and the opioid explosion, it's no longer just a high-population-density city-lurker problem. It's everywhere.

I've gotten to the point where I keep a slim backpack in the tool area under my rear seat with a couple of small waterproof bags I bought on the A-Zon site. If I'm ever somewhere questionable, valuables come out.

Can't recommend enough to do the same. Always have this mentality. Note: Not victim blaming here, just offering up some ideas that may help avoid the more aggravating part of the loss here. Sorry it happened, been there, done that!

For Apple, you can login to https://www.icloud.com/find and hunt down your phone. If you have an Apple device, there's a hidden setting, for latest iOS Go into Settings, tap your name at the top of the settings list, tap on Find My, tape Find My iPhone, of course make sure Find My iPhone is ON, then make sure Send Last Location is ON (it's off by default).

What does that last setting do? 1st thing thieves often do is shut down your device to negate tracking until they can tend to either jailbreaking to bypass the iCloud lock, or selling for parts or as an iCloud-locked device. If Send Last Location is on, should your phone boot up at any point after reaching its destination and connect to a cell tower, it'll ping Apple w/it GPS location, and it'll show up with the date/time and location in that website above. That'w when you hit up local PD closest to the location.

This is info I've shared with neighbors in my n'hood back when it was super sketchy, and while liaising with local PD, we managed to help identify and ultimately take down fencing operations in town, recovering tons of stolen goods. All the average PD needs is a motivated team and someone to offer up a clue where to look. Just don't take actions into your own hands, please. :)

Apple does offer up steps to do, but I haven't found #2 very useful, NUDRAT's 2nd sentence is probably better. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201472

Somehow when we got our new iPhones the Find My wasn’t turned on! Hopefully my car insurance will replace it though.

Tuco started barking outside. I walked out to look, got my rear tires delivered for the Beetle. They look wider than I imagined but should fit fine. Super sticky and grippy, not that the little single port motor gives me any loss of traction but they look good.
