I understand. I'm originally from Ohio farm country about halfway between Columbus and Cincinnasty where it's flat and tornado prone. I've seen the destruction they can cause firsthand and a tornado is nothing to fool with. I've seen it Texas too.

    Good morning!

Gearing up for ordering WP/TB replacement on Tundra.

I still have more to find, but close to daybreak here. My "break" is over...

This shit still freaks me out.

I understand this writeup more better now that I have a bigger screen to look at it. I just don't understand where to get valve shims...

Why is all that in metal studs and conduit? And why is that conduit not strapped within 3' of the box?

I have OME NitroChargers all around and OME springs for the front. We can definitely work something out for my stock front stuff. If not before, I'll be back in NWI for my sister's wedding Halloween weekend.

    The numbers are duty cycle. 1 ~= 10%, 2~=20%, high = 100%. Pretty straightforward.

You're not wrong, but I'd rather buy a generator than plan to use my stove to warm my house in the event of a power outage.

I have one of those for the GoPro. Super solid little mount.

Drove the truck a short distance. About 10 miles. Noticed when I pulled in that the SRS airbag light was still on the dash. Ruh-roh raggy.

Not real sure where to go from here.

The bottom design would be a hassle on narrow trails where the mirrors get folded by trees.

But could save your bacon if bandits set an ambush where the trail is that narrow...hard to hide when the lights blast you in your dome.

Although, with small enough lights, they probably sit flush with the mirror when it’s folded.

I still say that one could devise a mount that will fold with the mirror. I don't think we have enough room inside to do what that other fella did, but a light that drops down from the mirror would be cool.

It would also provide enough airflow to keep the lights cool, and help prevent early burnout.

If I had mirrors laying around, I'd try it.

The various shim thicknesses available are on the list. You'll see them as you scroll down. You need to know the thickness of the one you need first. My best advice is try not to overthink it. Take a lot of pix with good lighting as references for putting it all back together. Lube/coat internal parts with oil/assembly lube to reduce friction during start-up when you're done. You can do this. I know that's easy to say, but I've been in your shoes in various situations in my time and I didn't have access to the various instantaneous sources for knowledge like you do now, so that's to your advantage.

BTW, is the lower shroud you purchased an OEM part? If so, where did you get it for that price?

But would they truly be ditch lights if forward facing in the mirrors, or just driver-level eye melters?

First off, thank you so much for the link. I must have missed those little bastards. You're 100% right. Can't tell you how wracked my nerves were when I was doing my injectors. I forgot to hook up the new PCV hose, and the truck kept dying... I thought I kilt it. Fineto

Can't tell you the relief I felt when I turned it over for the first time. Lol. Also, great advice on the lube. Guess having a quart of oil handy for fingerings won't hurt. ;)

Yes, Oem. Mcgeorge Toyota from Virginia.

If they are IN THE MIRROR to me... they are eye melters. My thought experiment mount would have the same range of motion that any other light would have.

If yall find some at a junkyard I might buy them off yall. Give me something to do. Plus, I've got plenty of lights laying around...

YW. And I bought a new lower OEM fan shroud recently too but you got a better price. Nice! I believe the one for the 3.4l is cheaper but still a bargain.

Well, mine got chewed up by the lawnmower about 10 years ago. Figured while I'm was in there... plus not sure of price difference between V8/V6 lower shroud.

Also, @Desert Dog I was hoping to find an assortment of shims. A box. That way when its all apart I could just install, and be done. Don't have to wait for shims to show up, but golly... I'd hate to order an assload, and then have to return them for a restock fee.

I need to get the Chevy fixed so I can park the truck in the tent of pain again.

    Me either. That's okay though.

Also, here's a screen grab from your link below. This is for a set of 24.

Then there's mcgeorge. Details don't list what the quantity is. I assume it's 24 as well, but you know how assuming goes...

    @Tundra2

I probably don't have to say this but I'm going to. Whatever you do during that valve/shim job just make sure you torque everything to Toyota's spec. It isn't the kind of job for guesstimating.
