While I understand that the mods have every right to do what they're doing, and it has nothing to do with free speech, It still frustrates me when some of our most active members are getting taken out because of trivial things. It just seems like everyone needs to chill out.

It's going to kill this forum.

pretty sure World Peas is a way better topic @ Tundras.com instead of Socialism/Communism remarks but I digress...."Inquiring minds want to know" !

I'm not sure I agree. He's already received a 30 day suspension for the same thing. After coming back he said he was likely going to do it again. And......he did.. There are literally 1 million outlets that someone can express their views on socialism/communism/the liberal media. This is not one of those places, and frankly, I'm happy for that. I get inundated with people voicing their opinions on every platform I visit. I've mentioned it before, but not all of us are partisans. I HATE the fact that this country is so divided and I think our politicians are doing a great job of turning us against one another. Neither side really cares about us and this voting for the lesser of 2 evils deal is not how the founding fathers envisioned this going down. The reason the mods don't want politics on here is because it only leads to arguments we don't need. Nothing I say is going to change your mind and vice versa.

This place is about Tundra trucks. If someone can't can't handle that, then this isn't the place for them. Full stop. I've been on forums where the rules are not enforced or only enforced selectively and it sucks. Have you been to TacomaWorld? It's like a pack of hyenas. I think the mods are as professional and fair here as I've ever seen. They give people multiple chances and make the rules very clear.

If people want to bitch about the evil media taking over the world then they need to do it on another outlet. If you cannot follow that basic rule then you're not gonna last long.

I agree with @FirstGenVol. I saw the post, and surprised it took so long to get noticed. It was pretty blatant. Not just a mention while discussing Tundra topics.

I get to drive my truck today for the 2nd time in several weeks. I'm going to get gas while I'm out. I've seen it as low as $1.35 here which is amazing. I feel for any american oil and gas workers though.

What sort of prices are you seeing in the land of 10,000 lakes?

I know how that is. I have to fill up every other month. I rarely get to drive it. And if I get one of these SHOs running good it might be fill up twice a year...

If I was a betting man, pretty sure I’m correct when I say it got noticed moments after it was posted, if not by the back room folks, at least by some of us in the peanut gallery. Hovered over the report button for a few moments and then decided to say fudge it. Simply chose to simply move on. Wasn’t my place to judge whether it was appropriate or not. I stay here for the great Tundra stuff that the good folks post and other for threads like this Lunch thread. PHM is very much an to addition this Forum but must be held to the CofC like anyone else.

On topic....no truck work for me on this gorgeous day, getting Husky rider cleaned up for the yard work ahead. It was nice however driving the Tundra around town gathering parts for projects, especially being able to listen to Sirius thru my new HU !

I don't believe everyone should be treated the same...I think if you contribute vastly more helpful content, then your leash should be a little longer. Not because it's better for the "violator" but because it's better for the community...the content should take precedence over the transgressions until they are too ridiculous to ignore. There are only a small handful of other people in the 1st Gen section who have contributed as much helpful content as PHM over the time I've been here.

Having said that, I don't know what went on behind the scenes with PHM and the mods...maybe he'd been warned privately...maybe more than once. Maybe he got lippy in those possible private interactions with mods...I don't know, so I'm not going to judge the mods actions too harshly. I just hope he comes back and behaves himself to the extent necessary to continue to add to his already significant contributions to the 1st Gen knowledge base here, but I have a feeling he'll just move along....I guess we'll see in a month.

Losing PHM and Wumbo in the space of 10 days is a big loss to the 1st Gen Section...I do know that. :(

$1.72-1.79 for 87 octane around me. My dad said gas in Lake and Porter county are pretty consistently 10-30 cents less than down here in Hamilton and Marion county.

Everyone has the same opportunity to do the right thing, regardless of contribution to the site. We can't give one member more leeway than others. Try doing that with your kids (I'm guessing here, but probably don't have any yet).

PHM has always been very helpful to members and has good interactions with Staff. He will be able to return in a month.

Words of advice: self moderate. When you see someone posting something that shouldn't be...say something to them instead of watching them go down. If they delete it, I let it go...maybe a PM at most.

im beyond happy with how it looks. i keep staring at it. it was between this color or the army green. but underhood was grey and going green without doing under hood would of driven me NUTS.

body shop laid some awesome paint down too. its got damn near no orange peal and its pretty thick. id reckon to say its better than any of the brand new paints on most any average car these days

only to about $1.70 here. But, 78% of Minnesota workers are considered "Essential", so there's still a lot of demand.

Fortunately our Gov finally creating Exec Order requiring all non essential travel to cease, stay at home orders but as always a broad brush was used !

Any little bit will help, so here I sit looking at a gorgeous sunrise, itching to get busy with noisy stuff thinking of late sleeping neighbors !

I have an older neighbor that loves to tinker and work on his house, he built a really good replica of Tow-mater that sits in his driveway, every year he decks it out with xMas lights for the local parade, he’s won a couple of years. Whenever I’m making noise outside he always rides his bike by and asks what I’m doing or what I’m banging on(he’s genuinely interested not complaining) but he’s said to me before, you know me and you are the only ones that actually do anything in the neighborhood. I took that as a compliment.
I’ve hopped up a 6.5hp 4stroke to 11-12hp, cam, exhaust pipe, carb, fuel pump, put it on a trike...... that thing was obnoxiously fun!

    06 AC 4x4
So I have a MTB/Camping trip planned for August in the front range of CO. We started planning the trip last July. We're four and a half months out and I've already begun working on finding my lost fitness and started shopping/researching camping stuff and considering what, if any, needs to be done to the Tundra before I trek it 3000 miles in <12 days loaded with my bike, my body, and gear.

I'm not an experienced camper at all. I am an experienced (not necessarily skilled, mind you) mountain biker and I know which end is the dangerous end of a wrench. (the hard end, duh)

My wife keeps using the word, "IF" like the apocalypse is going to cancel camping. So I'm still getting my life together as if all things are normal...barring her not condoning the unnecessary expenditure of cash...just in case.

The bike gets new tires and maybe a new rear derailleur and it'll be fine.

The truck may also get tires. Maybe. I don't really think we'll encounter deep snow in mid-late August in CO, but the Duelers that are on it now don't inspire tons of confidence in the wet, let alone snow. (I'm coming from a 4Runner, so it's likely just me not fully adapted to having more power and less weight over the rear.) If I get tires, I'll see what sort of used MTs I can get at the local used tire shop. They've got a set of 315/70/17 BFG K02s sitting out front with ~1/3 tread on them, but stock suspension makes me think that may be ambitious even at crazy cheap prices.

My plan for camping is to buy a tent that will accommodate a queen size mattress so wife and I can camp at a later date (without me leaving her in the woods), a wool blanket, a self-inflating sleeping pad and a hatchet. I have a sleeping bag, clothes, lights, and a pocketknife. I've made it nearly 42 years with no camping gear, so I'm not ready to splash out megabucks for gear I may only need once a year.

Any suggestions from the braintrust for things I may have forgotten? Yes, I know basic maintenance on the truck. I've road-tripped many times.

    TIA
