Those things were the slowest vehicles EVER. My buddy beat me in his 3 cylinder metro.
I sure miss it though. I sold it back to my uncle when I bought my cr-x, and he used it for storm chasing and got caught in a nasty hail storm. It took a massive beating and got totalled.

Yup, not only was it slow but it left a black stripe down my street from staring it up and driving. I know it ran rich and looking back it probably really needed valves adjusted. Once it warmed up it stopped spraying smoke. I sold it to buy my 50s beetle, the guy I sold it to said he would send it to his father in Mexico but once he fixed it he kept it.

The only car I could beat that I knew of was my friends Isuzu imark. I think it was an 81, it was diesel and wasn't safe to get on freeways with because it was probably 30 seconds 0-60.

I support this. I visit the site 10% less because there are too many 5.7s in the wrong place and there are not enough shoes.

Its a temporary done deal per EO. The next one is a lifetime done deal if it passes through the big club you ain’t in.

FWIW, I replaced the rear coils on my sequoia with the dobinsons stock ride height and dobinson shocks. Been very happy with them. I tried Eibach shocks for the 4runner because they fit, but they were valved much too soft. Mine wasn't the air ride though.

If you do the coil swap, I'd recommend going with OME or Dobinsons. The aussie stuff is valved more firmly and that's good for the fat old sequoia :)

Finally got out to snap a few pics of the exhaust. I know it’s a long shot but can anyone identify this? It’s all bolt on with what appears to be a stainless muffler. Single in from the resonator and then duals out.

There are no markings of any sort on anything.

This is the closest thing that I’ve seen that’s even close to the same layout. I’d have to imagine that there would be a logo, marking, Toyota symbol or something though.

I don’t have much to report drive wise, she’s parked in the driveway waiting on the rear suspension to be dealt with. I can say on the drive home though, the truck seems to accelerates smoother, and feels like it has more get up and go. Curious to see if I gain anything fuel mileage wise.

Ya that TRD exhaust has a TRD stamp on the exhaust tips. My friends Darrell waltrip has it from the factory.

Another option to throw out there, I bought this Ironman set on a 25% off sale.
No review on them yet, still gathering parts for my suspension overhaul later this year.

I bought a cheap Harbor Freight unit on sale/coupons. Just wanted it to last through the loose paint on 1 porch. Worked fine if a bit week, ran on & on. I really thought it was going to need 'rest' breaks, but hasn't ask for one at all. Did a 2nd porch & it's still running like a top.

But a stronger unit would be more effective with a broader pattern. I really need to focus the spray pattern tighter than I'd like, which will eat wood if you're not very careful.

Let's be real. The 3rd gen section is like 200 guys back slapping about getting cement or liquid magma or whatever the cool color is, 200 guys back slapping over their traction boards and method wheels, and 100 guys asking how they get better mileage after putting bigger tires on.

I was trying to think of colors I could paint my truck and not paint the inside door jambs and stuff. Honestly I'm left with cement or tan or some shade similar. If I do rear fiberglass, paint my front fiberglass, paint my hood (getting rough) paint my roof (getting rough and needs rust spot fixed), and paint my shell... I'm to the point that a complete repaint is not much more work.

    Lumber price update:
    (current in so. cal)
    1 single 2x4- 8 ft........ $10.74
1 sheet 5/8” cdx plywood $94.00. Construction business has dropped 10% in the last 30 days. Sales rep at the local lumber yard told me today that most of his placed orders comin up are being postponed or cancelled. Also said that they are now updating the price list several times a week, rather than couple times a month, as they always had. I think this issue is going to have much more of an impact than it’s being recognized for. Stay tuned...... that’s all we can do...
