220 range, maybe more. Depends on how I feel when I get there.

Edit: I'm 6'2. I tell people that I'm 6'8 when my hairs poofed up. Always gets a laugh.

Don't know exactly what corrugated you bought, but I just did a metal roof on my shed and the prices were still OK at H.D. and Lowes for the thinner stuff used in roofing.

I mean I get it, you're not going to do a job and realize after costs that you made $100
But fuck, this shit is not the definition of capitalism
I haven't gotten shit extra working as a nurse through all this except the same old OT if I decide to pick up extra shifts

That's awesome. Great job! Keep on it. I think I'm down about 20lbs and I feel pretty good. It's hard to find the motivation to lose much more than 1lb a week for the last couples weeks though.

I'm sure you are starting to feel like a new you. When I lost about 15lbs I started noticing hiking was much easier.

I hope things getter better for you soon! I feel you with regard to things being slow. I just pulled the plug on my welding career and the oil/gas industry. It was getting too unstable and I was tired of making less than 3rd year apprentice wages with a journeman ticket and no overtime. Time to try something else.

I hear plumbing is doing pretty well or was doing well around here. We just lost a good welder/ fabricator because he was getting enough calls offering $35+ an hour to go back to plumbing/pipe stuff. Good guy, I'm very happy to see the good ones go on to make more money.

Plumbing is doing well here too. My brother is a plumber and he's constantly busy. Even in a recession, people need their plumbing. I ended up taking a position with a provincial power company on a huge infrastructure project. 3 years of guaranteed work, almost certain probability of more after that, at least double the money I was making in welding and real schedule with serious time off and benefits. No more 10+ hour days for weeks in a row when it's busy or having the boss come around half hour before quitting time on Friday "so...I'm going to need you guys to work this weekend. That'd be greeeaaat."

I got 22g from a local metal supplier, 30$ for 28”x 6’ sheets. They had 26g but I wanted a little more rigidity for it being a large panel section. I think homies and lowers has the galvanized in like 30g or something.

Yup. Politics in Canada drove 98% of our product to the US which kept us going while most in our industry in Canada folded. Then the politics shifted in the US and it's a race to the bottom. The irony is my new job is on a "greener" project, a hydro electric dam. I'm sure the enviro nuts will whine about that though. Meh.

You have some cool stuff  I've been trying to teach myself to weld with this little guy except I have the older green one. You Tube makes welding seem easier than it really is. Props to all you welders Screen Shot 2021-05-10 at 7.47.25 PM.jpg

    Thanks, it’s organized chaos.
I’m not good at welding by any means, but I can make metal stick together, and that’s usually all I need.
If it’s aluminum or something important(my rear bumper) I’ll just tack stuff together and have my friend who is a professional, do it for me.

“Work van” doesn’t appeal to the bearded hipsters who buy sprinters.
