Have a little issue hoping you all could help with. Putting the other LBJ in and the tie rod bolt is spinning and not allowing me to tighten.

ok got it, still surprises me how I figure it out after asking... gotta push the tie rod as high as it’ll go before tightening

Mine spun too. I ended up cutting them off and replacing them with shitty vatozone ones.

So I had my first OH SHIT moment on the bike. 2 dumbasses were battling each other to see who was the biggest dumbass. I went to pass them. I was in first with the clutch in so I gave it some revs and let the clutch out. Or so I thought.

Well, what I actually did was rev it to about 9 and dumped the clutch. The front wheel pulled up and I shot between the dumbasses and was heading into oncoming. I clutched in and swerved back to the right to get out of the turning lane, then proceeded to gtfo.

If I had been on a 600 or 1000 I woulda been in trouble. 100% my fault though. I think I even put a foot down during that cause my left foot hurt for a while.

I have a newfound respect now. The Dunning-Krueger effect had a hold of me and bit me good.

All you gotta do is push up from the bottom and the taper will lock it from spinning. Jack stand under it, then slowly lower the truck until there’s weight on the joint. Bet that wasn’t fun to cut off eh?

I know a firefighter. On a warm night they hear that sound, from the station. Every time they look at each other and say "I know What we're doing tonight...". Be careful out there.

    Correct.

When I was a sophomore in high school I rode my bike at the time 17.7 miles in 2.5 hours. Rode through two towns and a township.

I was jello, but I did it. I rode a lot back in them days. Haven't really touched a bike since.

Awesome. I think it is one of the most enjoyable ways to exercise. Is that a dedicated bike path?

Thanks! I need something to do at night, and this is low cost!

My local hometown rolls the sidewalk up at 8:00 pm sharp. Shuttered like dusk till dawn.

It's not dedicated for bikes specifically, but it is a public path thats 11 or so miles long. No motor vehicles allowed. Almost no one here at night which is El perfection.

I took this to the north side of the county back in high-school. From here to there it's a deceiving slope upwards that looks flat. Like that ghost rail road crossing where those "ghost kids" push your car over the tracks.

 I've kept mine all these years till I hit that mailbox on a Schwinn stingray replica. Thankfully, it didn't have the lever gearshift.

Pops told me a story about how he almost neutered himself with one of those.

I got rid of it shortly after.
My feet are too fucked to run.

Swimming or this is about all that I've found I can do so far. I'm sure someone will chime in with suggestions, and I'd be glad to hear them.

Excellent. Having a safe place to ride out of traffic is important. That is a good distance to start with. Focus on riding it faster. There are plenty of phone applications or just set a timer. I got faster for years on my normal lunch bike route. Racing myself was the best way to push myself. If you want to be competitive with others look into a strava account.. Bike riding never gets easier, you just get faster and go further. What kind of bike are you riding?

I'm getting started, and not really looking to get competitive. Just something to do that works different muscles than I'm used to.

As you read in the work boot thread, I fractured three out of five toes on both feet at the same time. I was in double walking boots and out of work for 12 weeks.

I was out in the driveway shoveling gravel in both boots

Mostly I mean get. A metric of where you are now. Seeing progress is the best motivator to keep at it. Maybe find something an app that measures your average speed for the ride. Map my ride, strava, got rider will all do that. I started off on a tall handle bar bike too. Good bikes improve the experience. Keep it up. You are making a good life change.

    Bad advice, too much work.

My suggestion is to go on eBay or Amazon, buy one of those cheap Chinese 80cc 2 stroke engine kits. Bolt it on the bike and instantly cut your times in half.

I just used my Samsung watch to record time, speed, heart rate, and "expected" calories burned. I'm not looking to necessarily get "faster" but if I can enjoy my workouts then I'll gladly do that.

I can see already that I'll need a different seat as my ass bone has changed because my gait has changed because I broke my feet. Weird...

Came home, and updated the light bar thread before doing more leg work out stuff.

No videos for that one. I fractured my left metatarsals at work somehow. I limped around for 37 days before going to the doctor, and getting seen. In my arrogance, and using my right foot to take the weight of me I fractured those metatarsals too.

Doctor told me I had low Vitamin D. Like way below normal levels. I explained that I'd been on nightshift for almost 5 years, and hadn't seen the sun much. She said that was enough to do it.

Get your tan fellas. You need it.
