He's an alright dude... I feel he could do a better job at making sure his employees do things correctly tho.

That being said, his shop won't be working on my truck again that's for sure.

At one point in my life, I purchased the hilift handle keeper. It broke (disintegrated) after 3 months of riding around in my truck under a softopper. The broverlanders won my money that round, but the fencing wire that replaced it lasted a lifetime.

Ok I didn’t do that but I cranked the engine countless times. I couldn’t find any writing at first so thought I’d mark the timing belt to give myself an idea of the rotation. I saw my different markings multiple times which gave me a good idea of how much the timing belt turned.

Still haven’t seen any writing on the belt.

Going off how many times I saw my different markings and their distance from one another, I don’t think there’s any writing on the timing belt.

Then I don’t think it’s even been replaced.. those markings stay on for 10s of thousands of miles

The timing belt change was about 30k miles ago. Even if he didn’t use genuine Toyota parts, I’m confident he would’ve done the work. The timing belt looks like it’s in good condition, even has a shine to it.

Tomorrow I’ll try the hand crank method to make sure I didn’t miss the writing. How often does the writing come up? 2-3 times on the belt?...

just double checked, timing belt changed less than 20k miles ago and the part price was $62.32. That can’t be a genuine Toyota part...

Likely not an oem then. Even at 100k you’ll have some kind of writing left on the belt

Anyone here hot rodded a daisy red rider? Maybe grease, maybe a spring spacer. Ive got the subsonic steel bb’s and sights in around 30yds. Ya know. Where it lands. Had it since i was 7 or 8. Its a “limited” and really nice, so i wanna hang it in the truck, but i wanna make it impressive. Should i make a hopper filled air hammer auto or doll it up with a scope and butt pad? Stocks engraved, but engraved on the wrong side.

i could make a fancy lever and shape the front. It’ll have to ride upside down. But scope, strap, butt pad, maybe ill hang a rail and a red light.

I’ve wanted the skinnier tires since they suit my needs better. So the 7” is fine.

plus employee discount I’m just a hair over 800 for the full set of wheels.. gotta order a fj 17” steelie for the spare now

I’m just really hoping the 33” tires clear everything fine in my setup.. I really don’t know how lifted I am compared to stock since the suspension was fubar when I did this.

what was the typical lift with the 882 springs and 5100s for access and reg cabs?

    I started a light bar/pod comparison thread.

Hoping to get some feedback about what you all have used, and others in the forum. I know there are some of you all here who have a few add on lights.

Maybe we can keep the discussion there so we don't have to dig through piles and piles of pages.
