Wyatt, and I pregamed a little before our testing... and me asking dumb ass questions probably confused him.

A note book and some continuity testing helped me determine which relay pin did what. From there I was able to test into operation.

    Damn Skippy!

There is life now thanks to redneck-istan reverse engineering and sobriety.

What needs to happen now is run a hot wire up to the switches from the relay box so the relay(s) will pull in.

On the hunt for a smaller bus bar than the monstrosity I ordered.

Here's another story time before I make a dedicated thread and quote all my stories from here to there.

I was in Wallace wurl in the electrical aisle getting connectors, and fuses because the local AutoZone closed 30 minutes ago.

Walk up front and get in one of three lines open and am just hanging out. In front of me is a really cute chicka. I'm placing her age in late 20s. She wasn't big as a minute. Cute as a button.

Her momma had the cart with what I'm assuming is her 9-10 Y/O granddaughter in the buggy. Momma was as big as an hour. Maybe two.

Momma is snapping at the grand daughter who was playing on her phone at 9/10 yo. The Q.T.π. was playing on her phone too while she was paying for her goods. Momma bear was loading her goods onto the belt and snapping because the GD wasn't helping her or getting out of the way so she could get the units.

Momma bear just worked around her. Telling her she was gonna take that phone away.

I'm just standing back watching this cluster unfold, and listening. They check out, and it's my turn. I place my four items on the belt, and the cashier looks towards me and says "Thank God you've only got a few items. It's almost break time." I just kinda smiled. See, her and I had a few um... "arrangements " back in HS.

We chit chat while checking out. Kinda catching up. I leave, and am now folling the time trio again. Moving like molasses on a cold, bitter, day. No way to get round so I follow them out of the store.

All three of then were snapping at each other, and looking at their phones. Momma bear ran the buggy right into the cost cutters waiting bench. She looked up, and appeared flustered.

Now was my chance for speedy exit. Stage left.

I'm slowly learning my new crimpers.

I'm curious if this meets @empty_lord's specifications on crimp.

Is that the proper die selection for insulated terminals?

That’s a decent crimp. As long as it doesn’t pull out

I put my gentle KYS-E strength on it.

My dad used to engrave his name on everything, when him and my mom separated he used a sharpie to label EVERYTHING I still have a broom and dust pan with his name on it. We come across some weird shit every now and then that he thought important to brand

Well these crimpers are also my WORK set. Stuff that stays here I don't bother engraving.

My pops does the same thing your pops did. Long as you dont find a sharpied flesh light.

Stuff at work is a little more important to clarify. Lol

    Nope, but looks ok.

Those are meant for non-insulated terminals. But as long as it holds the tug test after...

    Like he says below.

    I'm inching closer....

Anyone know where I can get the little on off metal labels that go over regular toggle switches?

Custom ones would be cool too, but on off works.

hey your the guy i want to as something... I have OEM hood switches laying around.. i want to use the factory switch to control a hood light. the issue is they are closed when the hood is closed. open when the hoods open.. i know its a simple circuit to make the light turn on with the switch open.. but im totally drawing a blank...

Just use an spdt relay to reverse the polarity.

You could use the NC pin (center pin of standard 5pin) of a relay so no power through when hood is closed. Draw should be minimal.

Yeah, I’m thinking 86-12v, 85-hood pin, 87-12v, 30-out to light. Ground the light where you see fit.

guess that would be the easiest way. and here i am trying to keep it overly simple in a way thats probably not possible... i need to build a relay box..

Could you rotate the way the switch mounts, so it goes closed when the hood is open?

It’s a tight fit in the latch. So no I’m afraid

I just need to get a relay/fuse box and condense my horns, headlights and what not into the one single box.

To keep it simple, I'd use a normally closed momentary switch instead.

A clutch or brake light switch is exactly that.
